Comment, the Spanish WP article is here, it has two references, one lists a book - Myths and legends of Cantabria by Juan Carlos Cabria, the other summarises the story, but that is all, WorldCat lists some books including The Sun of the Dead and Other Stories by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, Myths and Legends of Cantabria by Manuel Llano, Endless Cantabria Legend by Javier Ibarra Zorrilla, theres Cantabrian mythology, could this be a target of a merge/redirect with a sentence or two added about this myth?
