- delete This is exactly the sort of story that WP:NOTNEWS is supposed to cover. Mangoe (talk) 14:37, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
- No, the typical NOTNEWS story is the dedication of a newly renovated hospital wing by a politician or the apprehension of a person who slipped the teller a note announcing a bank robbery; this is a story with widespread coverage months after the fact, including being featured on TV shows. - Keep This is an ongoing kidnapping case of a young child that has enough news articles to establish notability, as my colleague above demonstrates.TH1980 (talk) 21:15, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
CommentKeep Received local, regional, and national attention. Appears to be receiving ongoing coverage if one enters "Dulce Maria Alavez" (w/o disappearance). Article can be expanded. Djflem (talk) 10:31, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

- Keep The scope and breadth of national coverage about the case, and the sources provided, demonstrates that the notability standard is met. Alansohn (talk) 15:57, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:NOTNEWS -- there is essentially 0 likelihood of lasting encyclopedic significance to this fairly routine crime story. The standard of significance suggested by the keep votes would render the policy meaningless. --JBL (talk) 20:11, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:NOTNEWS and WP:NCRIME. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 05:21, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
- Delete I'm not sure an appearance on Dr. Phil really establishes notability. A sad story but still an unfortunately routine news story without evidence of lasting significance (yet). Reywas92Talk 09:24, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
- Keep Notable child disappearance with foul play suspected. StonyBrook (talk) 15:49, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
- Keep Per national news sources provided. This is within WP:GNG.BabbaQ (talk) 15:59, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- Keep: The case has had ongoing media attention over the past 6 months, and the sources are good. I don't see any real reason to get rid of the article—not now, anyway. If, in a few months, media coverage has ceased, then we can re-assess. Dflaw4 (talk) 10:07, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
