Previously kept at AfD in March 2007, despite failing WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:23, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
He was contracted to a pro club. The guy has played at more than one professional club both in England and in Greece. He still should be considered as a pro player as he would quality for the Category:Panathinaikos footballers and Category:A.F.C. Bournemouth players because he was a player for the club at one stage or another.Simione001 (talk) 00:34, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- But what does any of that do in helping the article pass WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL? Mattythewhite (talk) 00:37, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete – As Canley (talk · contribs) from the previous AfD said, Brinias indeed seems to have moved to Gamma Ethniki side Marko on loan from Panathinaikos in July 2002. [1] However, from what I can see in the archives of Athlitiki Echo (so precious...), Brinias only played in a handful of friendly matches with the Markopoulo team [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. Because it appears he hasn't played in a fully professional league, he fails WP:NFOOTY. – Kosm1fent 14:10, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Surely someone who has played for Panathinaikos F.C., Wollongong Wolves and A.F.C. Bournemouth would be notable therefore passing WP:GNG?Simione001 (talk) 01:23, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- But how is notability being demonstrated when he didn't actually play any games for those clubs? It certainly isn't through WP:NFOOTBALL. And there doesn't seem to have been sufficient coverage in independent reliable sources, meaning it doesn't pass WP:GNG. You seem to be implying that being on the books of these clubs makes him automatically pass WP:GNG, which doesn't make sense. Mattythewhite (talk) 01:29, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Also, playing for those clubs make him a full time profession because he was employed them.Simione001 (talk) 01:35, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- But how is that an assertion of notability? To pass WP:NFOOTBALL a player needs to have played a match in a fully professional league, which Brinias hasn't. Mattythewhite (talk) 01:39, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes but doesnt playing for those club make him notable WP:GNG? Also he ha played a senior match for Galway which adds to the list of reasons to keep.Simione001 (talk) 01:44, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- No and no. Mattythewhite (talk) 01:45, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I dont agree. For mine there are enough reason to let him be.Simione001 (talk) 01:46, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- But you don't back any of those reasons up with actual guidelines. Simple fact is the article fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL, meaning it isn't notable. Mattythewhite (talk) 01:50, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I think he meets the wider requirements of WP:GNG.Simione001 (talk) 01:55, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- And do you wish to demonstrate how this is the case? Mattythewhite (talk) 02:02, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Simione001, you miss the fact that the player hasn't actually played for Panathinaikos, Bournemouth or Wollong Wolves, having made zero appearances for all three clubs. Moreover, there is too little coverage about him on reliable independent sources. Saying that "he meets WP:GNG" is all nice and well, but you have to actually show how he meets GNG by providing links which justify the "significant coverage in reliable independent sources" required by GNG. – Kosm1fent 03:46, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - per nom. There is insufficient coverage for this article to meet WP:GNG, and as already stated above, Mr. Brinias has not played in a fully pro league, meaning the article fails WP:NSPORT as well. Sir Sputnik (talk) 19:48, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
