No significant coverage in reliable sources. Speedy declined* because of some supposed mention in NY Times, which is a 404 error at present. Chzz ► 05:09, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
*Actually, the speedy was accepted, and the article deleted. Then, the user recreated the article with the speedy tag still in place. User added a ref (404), a hangon, and a comment on the talk. The brought-back-to-life speedy was then declined. Hence, here we are. Chzz ► 05:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand. If Christopher Pratt is eligible for quick deletion by administrator w/o any discussion, I don't see why the pages of Chew Choon Seng, CEO of SIA; and Gerald Arpey, Chairman and CEO of AMR Corp. can continue to exist in Wikipedia.
I went through respective articles I mentioned, and saw similar content as that of Christopher Pratt. I'm surprised at both the speed and the decisiveness of the administrator. But my question continues, why the pages of Chew Choon Seng and Gerald Arpey can continue to exist today!
Where's the significant coverage in reliable sources demanded?
I'd also like to remind the administrator that according to Criteria for speedy deletion, "administrators should take care not to speedy articles except in the most obvious cases... Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears too soon after its creation."

- First, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not a good argument to make in such a discussion. Second, the significance requirement is found at WP:N. Third, the source cited is no longer a 404 [1], although the coverage is very brief and looks like a press release, and as such entitled to little weight.
Finally, given the number of Gnews hits [2], it seems likely that there will be enough WP:RS to source this article and establish notability. Thus, keep unless I'm unhappily much mistaken on the quality of the sources.Tim Song (talk) 17:25, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]Delete as nn. Now I have the time to actually review those sources, and it seems that I was indeed much mistaken. All of the sources I sampled are trivial mentions that quotes him only because of his position. Thus no independent notability is established. I'll be happy, of course, to change my !vote if a nontrivial source is provided.Tim Song (talk) 03:00, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]- Keep. Sigh. Changing my !vote again. Hopefully the last time. The CBE did it, per Aviator006. In response to your comments, North wiki, they are somewhat irrelevant to the discussion here, as AfD and CSD apply very different criteria. However, and with respect, I would not apply CSD A7 in this case, as there are sufficient assertions of importance to survive the CSD. Nonetheless, the issue is moot now. - Keep - North wiki has requested my help in developing this article. Christopher Pratt is the director of HSBC, the world's largest bank; Chairman of Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong's flag carrier, as well as John Swire & Sons and Swire Pacific. Furthermore, he is the recipient of a CBE from the British Empire, which would consider as notable under WP:ANYBIO. I think the author requires a bit more time to research and develop the article. - Comment - WP:CSD and WP:AFD are two entirely different things...--Unionhawk Talk E-mail 13:12, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
