The result was keep. Not certain this needed a relist last week, but regardless, clear consensus to keep. ~ Amory (utc) 18:06, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Notable ruins - destroyed circa 1435, and covered to present.[1][2][3][4]. Note that Castel Savelli seems to be the common name in English (but there are a number of variations here).Icewhiz (talk) 14:08, 23 July 2018 (UTC) If the AfD closes keep - I'll move the article after the close (moving articles during AfD is messy).Icewhiz (talk) 16:42, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep -- A medieval castle in England would probably be notable. That should also apply in Italy. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:01, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Castles are generally notable historic buildings, even those that no longer exist. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:13, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Sourced and expanded, no problem meeting [[WP:NBUILD]]. @Icewhiz: Castel Savelli is, FWIW, also used in Italian sources. It is maybe not easy to determine which one get the most uses, and I would be fine with having the article at Castel Savelli with an {{R from alternative name}} – or would that be {{R from alternative spelling}}? – form Castel Savello. • Keep. wp:ITSACASTLE (was a redlink, now is an essay) has been needed as a guideline to cover restaurants with "Castle" in their name, and anything else castle-like, as well as historic castles. --Doncram (talk) 19:49, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
See also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gorteens Castle, which closed "Keep", because, well, it's a castle. Various editors said that more eloquently, with more detail, but still, it's a castle. --Doncram (talk) 04:31, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doncram: A detached castle (definitely one of this sort) would typically meet WP:GEOLAND - as it is a populated place (in this case abandoned, with or without legal recognition as the case may be - however typically with). While the castle itself is also a collection of buildings (surrounded by a moat/wall/etc. with outlying buildings for peasants) - it is also a place of settlement typically housing hundreds of people.Icewhiz (talk) 05:07, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Satisfies GNG and GEOLAND. It is of exceptional historical importance. I agree that castles and other fortresses will generally satisfy GEOLAND. James500 (talk) 19:44, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
