There is absolutely no evidence of any campaign or movement specifically for a Wales Olympic team, apart from the one isolated suggestion by the deputy leader of Plaid Cymru. Wikipedia isn't the place to start a campaign, however much we'd love to see Wales getting more recognition in Olympic sport. Sionk (talk) 19:29, 10 September 2022 (UTC)

- Delete – as per the nom's rationale, this appears to be a heavy case of WP:SYNTH. A statement by a politician and a brief mention in a pro-independence report don't equate to a notable stand-alone campaign or movement. Jr8825 • Talk 20:00, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- Keep - I have moved the name of the page to "Movement" which seems more apt. I have also made significant additions of people and organisations that support or advocate for a Wales Olympic Team. Titus Gold (talk) 20:50, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- While I appreciate your effort to find sources, my synthesis concern still stands. A number of individuals holding a view doesn't equate to an organised movement. Jr8825 • Talk 12:49, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

- Delete - Although there is clearly some interest in a Wales Olympic team, sources don't support the existence of such a 'campaign' or 'movement' in the generally understood sense of those terms. Llwyld (talk) 02:25, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- This is a fair comment, similarly to Movement for a Wales cricket team. Could we instead change the name to "Establishment of a Wales Olympic team"? Thanks Titus Gold (talk) 12:55, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- I understand you have done a lot of research and put a lot of effort into this article, but I don't think changing the name (again) is going to solve the issue. Perhaps some of the content here could find a home in Sport in Wales? Llwyld (talk) 13:45, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- I'd support some of the content (paragraph at most) can be moved to Sport in Wales#Olympic sports. DankJae 14:51, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

- Delete, per above, there is no proof in sources used of a campaign/movement. – DankJae 13:44, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Delete, these are all of a piece with Campaign to change the WRU logo, Campaign for a Wales cricket team and Campaign to end the Prince of Wales title. At some point, we are going to have to face into User:Titus Gold's POV and their attempts to push their agenda on here. The clean-up required when we do will be substantial. KJP1 (talk) 14:10, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Removing the word "Campaign' or "Movement" is perfectly fair. Why not rename the page "Establishment of a Wales Olympic team"? Titus Gold (talk) 14:18, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- WP:CRITS is relevant to all of these articles. Jr8825 • Talk 15:03, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Someone can go ahead and delete this article.
- I have copied over the info to Draft:Proposed Welsh Olympic Team for potential access at a later date. I will not be publishing this unless a consensus is reached. Please feel free to make changes to this Draft or add proposals for change in its talk page.
- Thanks Titus Gold (talk) 22:40, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- Alternatively, this page could be kept and moved to e.g "Proposed Wales Olympic Team". Titus Gold (talk) 22:55, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- I appreciate your passion for the topic, but changing the name (again) is not going to solve all the concerns raised. There's no rush, no deadline. Just keep a copy in draft space and maybe come back to it later on, perhaps if the topic gets major attention. Llwyld (talk) 22:28, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- Ok no problem. Someone is welcome to proceed with deletion on 17th if majority opinion remains. I will suggest the draft article for review after improvement in future, perhaps in List of movements in Wales or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wales. Thanks Titus Gold (talk) 23:34, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
