The result was withdrawn by nominator. The overwhelming concensus was to keep, and valid references have been added to the article since nomination (non-admin close). Hellno2 (talk) 16:43, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Burloak Canoe Club (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View log)
Non-notable local club. Article states clubs accomplishments, but has zero references, just a single external link to the club's own site. Hellno2 (talk) 13:46, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. The club has been a national champion and has had several notable members, including competitors in the Olympics. --Malleus Fatuorum (talk) 15:00, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: "Several notable members," without proper references, or any references for that matter, is not a free pass to notability. Even if JFK or Winston Churchill were members of a club, if an article about it was written like this one is, that would still not be grounds for keeping it. Hellno2 (talk) 01:37, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge/Redirect into Oakville, Ontario, the town where it is situated and the community that it services. It is unclear what exactly is the "national championship" that they won (and unsourced). --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 16:16, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep the amount of coverage suggests that the club is a notable organisation and meets the general notability criteria. The club certainly meets the verifiability policy. As Malleus says, a considerable number of members have notably represented Canada at the Olympics. EJF (talk) 17:27, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge/Redirect into Oakville, Ontario per Fabrictramp, or Delete as non-notable. GreenJoe 19:03, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - this article is about a change int he head coaching position at the club. This article identifies two very notable Olpympic medallists from the club (Larry Cain, and Adam van Koeverden. -- Whpq (talk) 17:42, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. This club has won multiple national championships, which can be confirmed with a Google search in less time than it takes to comment at an AfD. How can that not make for notability? I'll put the refs found by Whpq into the article to satisfy the wikilawyers. Phil Bridger (talk) 13:17, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
