Unsuccessful candidate for elected office. Does not pass WP:NPOL. Mccapra (talk) 05:52, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • The subject was a Secretary of State Government, I suggest the article is invaluable. Buike20 (talk) 07:22, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Subject of the article fails WP:GNG. Being just a former secretary of state government does not make him eligible to warrant a standalone article. The article was created to promote the subject by a now blocked sockpuppet. —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬
  • Delete A non notable politician who doesn't meet any of the general notability criteria for inclusion.Em-mustapha talk 14:02, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete an unelected candidate for public office. His postion as secreatary to the state government was not such to create notability. I did start an article on the person who defeated him in the senate race. That we did not already have an article on a current senator of Nigeria is something that indicates how systemic bias creates an over abundance of articles on Americans, even including mayors of places with under 10,000 people, but yet we lack articles on current senators in Nigeria.John Pack Lambert (talk) 20:27, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Fails WP:NPOL as Odoh held a non-notable state government post and lost an election. LefcentrerightDiscuss 23:28, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Odoh as a Politician has significantly gained press coverages both while in office and out of office. @Johnpacklambert: you can tell that in America articles are created for the Secretaries of State Governments. As a secretary to the state government, He was the third highest executive officer in Ebonyi State. The office is a notable one.Buike20 (talk) 05:45, 18 June 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Buike20 (talkcontribs) 05:43, 18 June 2020 (UTC) struck confirmed blocked sockpuppet —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 14:29, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep He would pass WP:NPOL if the secretary of state in Nigeria is similar in stature to other state positions around the world, but through a quick search he also appears to pass WP:GNG with lots of local news coverage. SportingFlyer T·C 16:29, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
He wasn’t a Secretary of State, he was a Secretary to the State Government and that isn’t a post that confers a presumption of notability. Mccapra (talk) 15:23, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't precise enough with that keep !vote. Secretary to the State Government appears to be third or fourth ranking in terms of Nigerian state governments, making it similar to a Secretary of State position for a state government in other countries with state or provincial governments. I think this clearly qualifies for WP:NPOL. SportingFlyer T·C 22:55, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of Nigerian states this office position is neither third nor fourth it is only a political office appointed by the governor of a state, we have state house of assembly speaker and state attorney general are the only third and fourth positions.Em-mustapha talk 22:35, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
