I can't find any sources that discuss this topic that we could use to expand this article beyond a dictionary definition. Basal in medicine is just a word that means what it means. I can't think of a reasonable redirect target either (any ideas?). Propose deletion per WP:NOTDIC. Ajpolino (talk) 04:28, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

- Delete Wiktionary already has an entry for this term so no point in trying to send it there. Mccapra (talk) 07:59, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- Per WP:ATD,
Please note that Wiktionary no longer accepts transwikis from Wikipedia, and so is not an alternative to deletion.
, so there's also that. TompaDompa (talk) 08:17, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- Per WP:ATD,
- Delete Useless entry other than as a definition, so not encyclopedia material. rsjaffe 🗩 🖉 08:58, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- Merge into the Glossary of medicine which does not currently have an entry for this. There's lots of medical jargon like this; our medical articles tend to use it for precision but are then hard for general readers. That's why we have and support glossaries. Note that we also have a link for Basal (anatomy) and it would be good to explain the distinction. Relevant policies include WP:ATD and WP:PRESERVE. Andrew🐉(talk) 09:10, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- While I didn't merge any content from this page or the other one, I added both senses to glossary of medicine. TompaDompa (talk) 09:47, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- Excellent idea! Now that both terms are added (thanks TD) redirect to Glossary of medicine is my first choice as well. I'll keep that page in mind going forward. Ajpolino (talk) 13:44, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
