Barney's Food Warehouse

Appears to be a non-notable WP:COMPANY that has not been in operation in about 30 years. Can find no sources that indicate notability of defunct grocery chain. Cubbie15fan (talk) 16:04, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. I found a few sources to verify that Kroger operated "Barney's" warehouse stores in Ohio[1][2]; I found nothing to verify a Memphis-based subsidiary by that name. Unless someone turns up better sourcing, the mention of Barney's at Kroger#Former chains should be corrected to refer to the Ohio stores, and this separate article should be deleted. --Arxiloxos (talk) 17:29, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect to Kroger#Former chains per Arxiloxos' sleuthing. We can WP:V that the chain exsisted (if this stub gives the wrong location) and that Kroger operated it. That makes the redirect plausible, and redirects are cheap. - The Bushranger _{One ping only} 10:46, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Redirect to Kroger#Former chains (with the history preserved under the redirect) per Arxiloxos and The Bushranger. Arxiloxos has established a connection between Barney's Food Warehouse and Kroger, and I agree with The Bushranger that redirects are cheap. The history should be preserved because it could help facilitate a selective merge using Arxiloxos' sources or the redirect can be undone if sources surface in the future that establish notability.
