The result was delete‎. WP:UNSOURCED WP:OR/WP:SYNTH. Random WP:UNSOURCED "comparison" table data dump was already removed per Wikipedia talk:WikiProject International relations#Rfc on Country Comparison charts/tables. What remains does not really amount to anything: we've got a map, we've got an old 2009 picture of RF ex-president Medvedev and AL ex-sec-gen Moussa, we've got a completely WP:UNSOURCED and irrelevant section about the "Russian-Arab Business Council" that has nothing to do with the Arab League, but is instead a combo of 18 bilateral business councils of Russia with 18 Arab states (so not even all 22 member states of the Arab League), then a random See also section, then some more external links WP:PROMO for the irrelevant business councils, and some guy's WordPress blog, then two templates and two categories. That's it. This isn't an article. It's random vague stuff lumped together. In theory it is a legitimate topic, but we should WP:TNT this because the current mess isn't worth anyone's consideration. Keep This passes notability and I understand your concern from the IR RFC. They have been doing Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum which has Russia's FM holding talks with Arab League member states' FM's since 2014 1. Lavrov addressing the organization about the Ukraine war in 2022. Putin addressing the league in 2005 and meeting with the then-head of the league Amr Moussa. 2009 meeting between Moussa and Lavrov. There are pictures of Moussa and Medvedev but I couldn't find any direct links for those outside of the one page from the Russian government website. Medvedev address to the league in 2009. GCC and Russia summit from 2023, but this is only a small group of Arab League members. Yes, we have issues regarding some propaganda or government/primary sources for the ones I've found, but this is better than nothing. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 01:46, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing that search! It is better than nothing, but may still not meet WP:GNG. I'm not sure this is WP:SIGCOV from WP:SECONDARY WP:RS.
1. kremlin.ru and mid.ru are Russian govt websites > WP:PRIMARY
2. Al-Monitor is an RS, we could use that.
3. thearabweekly.com is apparently the same as Al-Arab / alarab.co.uk, that seems ok as well (currently used in about 15 enwiki articles).
4. WP:CGTN / China Central Television (cctv.com) is not reliable, and has been WP:DEPRECated.
5. On Arab News – owned by Prince Turki bin Salman Al Saud, brother of reigning Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman – there is no consensus (WP:MREL) whether is reliable or unreliable. WP:RSP states: As Arab News is closely associated with the Saudi Arabian government and is published in a country with low press freedom, editors consider Arab News biased and non-independent for Saudi Arabian politics, and recommend attribution for its coverage in this area. Some editors consider Arab News unreliable for matters related to the Saudi Arabian government. Unfortunately, "Arab League–Russia relations" is all about "Saudi Arabian (foreign) politics" and a "matter related to the Saudi Arabian government".
That leaves us with pretty little to go on. Al-Monitor speaks of the "Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum", which does not seem to amount to much yet: However, the first ministerial session took place years after the forum's inception, in February 2013, at the height of the Arab Spring and after Vladimir Putin’s return to the Kremlin. (...) The original idea was to hold sessions annually, but the plan was scrapped amid the rift between Qatar, on the one hand, and Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain, on the other. Now the opposing sides are often seen at the same meetings. And arabweekly.com only reports about a speech Lavrov was going to give, but hasn't yet given. It's really not much. Comment After doing more research on this topic I found a Middle East Monitor article on the league's ambassador to Russia regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in 2019 and from the Pressenza IPA from April 2022 where Lavrov held a meeting with Arab States members. Russia in the past has lobbied for Syria's return to the Arab League where articles can be found on the subject. But I doubt this is enough to meet the sources and notability requirements to have this article stay as is. If this is deleted, then I have no problem with it regardless of my keep vote. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 21:41, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
delete This article does not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. While it provides some information on Russia-Arab League relations and the Russian-Arab Business Council, it lacks sufficient depth and breadth to justify its own page.
