Marcella Fazi was born in 1911 in Sicily, Italy and married an Italian Duke of the Borghese family, establishing her as a princess. In 1956, businessman Gino Di Grandi approached Charles Revson and suggested he develop a line in conjunction with the Princess through a licensing agreement, to compete against Faberge's Juliette Marglenbrand in department stores. This is believed to be the first "celebrity" beauty line. Charles Revson and the Princess became lifelong friends, and by 1963, Gino was included to 10% of the Princess' royalties from the line (by her decision). Borghese, as the line was known, developed into a fairly strong line- its main competition being (once Juliette Marglen disappeared) Elizabeth Arden, Helena Rubinstein and Geminesse, by Max Factor. This was before Revson had developed his Ultima IIline, and Revlon was looking to have a more upscale line for department stores. (Ultima II started out as a skin care product which morphed into a full cosmetic line when Mr. Charles needed a line to compete with Estée Lauder in specialty stores). Borghese was no match for Estée Lauder or Clinique, and, after Charles Revson died in 1975, Revlon president Michael Bergerac pulled the Revlon brnad from department stores, leaving Borghese to struggle without much clout. Revlon lumped Borghese into a new division called Halston-Borghese, formed through the acquisition of Halston fragrances from Playtex beauty. and remained in niche department stores through the 1980's and 1990's. Attempts to grow and develop the brand were not successful, and by 2002, Revlon sold the company to a Saudi Arabia business group. However, the Princess remained involved in the Borghese line until her death in 2002, at the age of 90. By 2004 the line was sold to Georgette Mosbacher, whohad success with the La Prairie brand in the early 1990's. Her strategies did not prove effective, and in 2006 Borghese began to appear in Costco. This greatly impacted Borghese's already weak department store presence, as consumers were able to buy the same items at significantly lower prices at Costco. Many retailers retaliated by dropping the line altogether. In 2007, Borghese began to develop beauty products for Costco's private label, Kirkland Signature, at even lower prices. These products read : "Kirkland Signature by Borghese", and have had an increasing presence in Costco stores. It is speculated that Borghese will eventually function strictly as a Costco private label. Sources[edit]

Bill Janz of The Milwaukee Journal has described Gary Nosacek as "reserved as a lion at lunch." Nosacek has received this reputation because he is willing to go anywhere and do anything, if it's for a good cause. He has flown with The Air Force as a civillian observer in Bosnia. He had a run-in with Zapatistas in Chiapas, Mexico when he was down there reviewing plans for a medical clinic. Most recently, the 5 foot 6, 140 pounder was seen in a wrestling ring during a charity event to raise money for Chiapas. A bad fall resulted in whiplash and bruised ribs. "They say give until it hurts," Nosacek quiped. "I did." For his charity efforts, Nosacek was made a Knight of St. Michael. The knighting ceremony was covered in The Cathoilc Herald. Nosacek also made news for something he didn't do. His wife, Dr Cynthia Jones-Nosacek was asked to trade him to the ABC TV show WIFE SWAP. The producers wanted to do a husband trade, but the doctor wisely refused. That adventure was covered in the August 17th, 2004 edition of The Milwaukee Journal.

Sociolotron is a pay-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game. You must be over 21 to play, no exceptions! Sociolotron features strong adult content, language, and graphics. Sociolotron is almost unique almost MMORPG in that it is aimed at an adult audience. This results in it often being mistaken for a sex game however it is far more than that. The game world certainly does contain a very healthy dose of sex but it is also a complex world players can lead explore social interactions and relationships. Reviews and articles on Sociolotron often dwell on the fact that rape is a possible act within the game however articles rarely go on to explain that it’s also regarded as a crime and that characters who commit crimes are liable find themselves in court and possibly in the prison as punishment. The whole in-game legal system is run by players with regular elections for jurors, prosecutors, judges and even Prime minister. In short Sociolotron offers a game world like the real world where characters choose the path they take and reap the consequences accordingly. Sociolotron is published by Sociolotronics LLC which was founded in 2005 by Patric Lagny.

Haggerston Castle is a hamlet located in the county of Northumberland. Today, it is best known as a caravan park owned by Haven & British Holidays. Historically, it was a baronetcy in the civil parish of Ancroft, then located in County Durham.
Early history[edit]Haggerston was first mentioned in sources in 1311, when Edward II visited the castle, and again in 1345, when it was described as a 'strong tower' and was granted a licence to crenellate by Edward III in the same year. This licence is recorded in the Calender of patent rolls (1343-45),p479. The inhabitants of the castle, the de Hagardestons, are believed to have been part of the invading force of William the Conquorer, who invaded as far north as Berwick-upon-Tweed. The land at Haggerston was, at that time, boggy and wet, the remaining lake serving as a reminder of this. There are few records of the early part of the history of Haggerston Castle, as later fires destroyed much of the castle, along with its documents. It is known that John de Hagardeston inhabited the castle in the late 12th and early 13th century, his death having been documented in circa 1210. He married into the Manners family, of Cheswick. The name of de Hagardeston appears to have changed to the anglicised spelling of Haggerston with Thomas Haggerston, born circa 1458. Haggerston was not created a baronetcy until 1642, when Sir Thomas Haggersston was created a baronet.
A Witch's Curse?[edit]Haggerston Castle has three times been damaged by fire. The date of the first fire is unknown, but the subsquent fires took place in 1618 and 1911. Local legend holds that the fires were brought about by a witch's curse, which has now been fuflilled.

'''Goal''' The goal of C School is to provide coaches and extracurricular activity coordinators with the personal and professional development tools needed to accelerate their advancement through the ranks and therefore provide universities and public/private school districts with an incentive to retain the best talent. This is accomplished by the utilization of a curriculum that teaches advanced political, business and communication strategies. C School is business school for coaches. '''Overview''' In order for a coach to realize their potential and individual dreams in the current sports climate, they must do more than merely show up everyday, teach their team to run plays and produce wins. They must develop their leadership, communication and business skills. In short, they must view themselves as a blend of coach, entrepreneur and political candidate. The basic premise of C School is that managing a coaching staff is akin to operating a small business. The skills an entrepreneur utilizes in growing his/her company are very similar to those used by a coach in building a winning program. Additionally, a successful coach must always remember what every good politician inherently knows: 1) you are always campaigning (positioning yourself) and 2) the key to victory is your message and the ability to communicate it to your voters (players, fans, the media, boosters, administrators, and staff). C School focuses on coaches who have been identified by school district administrators (academic and athletic) as being “high potential” performers. “High potential” is defined as possessing the talent and work ethic necessary to become a head coach. C School is a tool that can benefit these individuals at any point in their careers. At the conclusion of each session, the attendees are armed with strategies and techniques that, when combined with their technical expertise, enable them to 1) perform at a higher level in their current position, thereby improving the likelihood of promotion and 2) shorten the amount of time spent as an assistant coach or in an entry-level coaching position prior to securing a head coaching job. The Curriculum (copyrighted) In order to facilitate the development of these coaches, the curriculum provides them with the tools required to expand their individual skillset and to expedite the “timeline for personal success” and ultimately, the entire institutions success. The curriculum teaches the coaches to view themselves, and their careers, from the perspective of entrepreneurs and political candidates instead of only as coaches. C School’s curriculum is built upon three primary concepts. These ideas form the bedrock of C School and are reiterated and reinforced throughout the coursework. The concepts are: (a) the constant evaluation of skills and progress; (b) the development and refinement of communication skills; and (c) an in-depth understanding of marketing principles.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has had an unbroken presence in Georgia since 1917. The NAACP State Conference maintains a network of branches throughout Georgia, from cities to small rural counties. The state branches, despite periods of instability and discontinuity, have been the most effective and consistent advocates for African American civil rights in twentieth-century Georgia. Since the 1955, Atlanta has hosted the Southeast regional headquarters of this national civil rights organization. Youth branches of the NAACP in Georgia have nurtured many future leaders of various major civil rights organizations, and the state has provided many native sons and daughters to the national leadership over the NAACP's long history. Early Years In February 1909 future NAACP organizers issued "The Call," a statement protesting lawlessness against Negroes, and began forming the Committee on the Negro. By 1910 the organization had adopted the name National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and had begun publication of a monthly journal, The Crisis, under editor W. E. B. Du Bois. Extensive organization in the North and Midwest and development of antilynching legislation characterized the NAACP's first seven years. Its organizers shifted focus to the South when they began to see the difficulty of accomplishing legislative goals without southern politicians' support. The leadership of Jacksonville, Florida, native James Weldon Johnson as executive secretary brought attention to the importance of serving the largest part of the African American population, which resided in the South. Beginning in January 1917 and up until June 1920, branches were organized in communities around Georgia, including Albany, Americus, Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, Brunswick, Columbus, Cordele, Dublin, Macon, Milledgeville, Rome, Savannah, Thomasville, Valdosta, and Waycross. Many of the earliest branch members came from the professional class of physicians, dentists, businessmen, teachers, and ministers. Established black newspapers in Atlanta, Rome, and Savannah carried NAACP news releases, and these cities hosted successful early locals that focused primarily on educational improvements for the black community. In most black schools in Georgia's cities and towns, teachers were expected to teach twice the number of students per day as those in the white schools. In two separate shifts, one in the morning and early afternoon and one from afternoon into the evening, these overworked and underpaid black educators taught shortened lessons to two sets of large classes. Efforts for elimination of these "double sessions" and the addition of seventh grade and above in African American schools provided an early focus for branches in Georgia's cities. During World War I (1917-18), when many men and women left their communities for military service, shortages of laborers and domestic workers occurred. Black men and women who were self-employed or homemakers were under extreme pressure to work for whites. Many southern communities passed local laws that required all black people to work outside of their own households. Black communities organized to protest these "work or fight laws," and their efforts often led to the formation of NAACP branches. Destitute farmers and other rural laborers found it difficult to form branches of the association because of the requirement that fifty people pay one dollar each to receive a charter. Threats of violence against local activists also made organization in rural counties almost impossible at this early stage. In the immediate post–World War I years, Atlanta served as a refuge for black Georgians who fled from oppressive violence and peonage in rural parts of the state, and the NAACP branch in the capital often provided refugees legal and financial assistance. But after the national NAACP held its 1920 annual conference in Atlanta, the publicity it received triggered a backlash that hurt the Atlanta branch and virtually paralyzed most branches throughout the state for the next two decades. Only five branches—at Fort Valley, Griffin, Hawkinsville, Monroe, and Newnan—formed during the 1920s. The NAACP's official organ, The Crisis, dubbed Georgia the "Empire State of Lynching" because of the state's horrifying record of racial vigilantism. Walter White of Atlanta became a field secretary for the national office immediately after helping to organize the Atlanta branch in 1917, and in 1930 he became executive secretary of the national NAACP in New York. His work to solve the lynching problem through legal means and his ties to the Atlanta community helped the NAACP to remain steadfast in Georgia during the 1930s and 1940s, when it lost many branches in the southern states because of suppression by law and intimidation by force. A. T. Walden, Georgia's most prominent black lawyer and later the cofounder of the Atlanta Negro Voters League, served as president of Atlanta's NAACP branch from 1924 to 1936. Branches in Augusta, Savannah, and other cities in Georgia survived with varying degrees of success until the next growth period of the organization after World War II (1941-45). 1945 to the Present NAACP Georgia branch numbers swelled to fifty-five in the year immediately after World War II. The demise of the white-only primary in Georgia (King v. Chapman, 1945) gave impetus to statewide voter-registration campaigns. Many whites reacted with violence and hostility to black registration and voting. This volatile political climate prevented rapid progress on voting rights and over time caused the number of NAACP branches to shrink to less than twenty in the early 1950s. State and local leadership under Governor Herman Talmadge was extremely hostile toward the organization, and violence and economic reprisals against NAACP members were common. The dominant Georgia branches in the 1950s were in Savannah and Atlanta. The Reverend Ralph Mark Gilbert was president of the Savannah branch during this period and became the first leader of the state conference of NAACP branches. He inspired a new form of protest, in Savannah and elsewhere in the state, that departed from the strictly legalistic approach espoused by the national board. After the 1954 U.S. Supreme Court Brown v. Board of Education decision, which declared the concept of separate but equal schools unconstitutional, new rounds of civil rights activity began. In 1955 W. W. Law of Savannah became the leader of the state organization and was reelected for eight terms. In 1961 the NAACP's Southeast regional director, Ruby Hurley, hired as Georgia field director the Atlanta native Vernon Jordan, who later became executive director of the National Urban League. In the 1960s hostility from white Georgia politicians against the NAACP hindered the organization's growth. Other civil rights organizations came to play a new and complementary role in the African American freedom struggle. The direct action protest of other civil rights groups in the 1960s afforded many youth members and admirers of the NAACP opportunities for leadership and activism. An influential group that formed its headquarters in Atlanta was the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). Activist Ella Baker called together black southern ministers in 1957 to organize an umbrella group to coordinate the efforts of existing local organizations in urban areas of the South. SCLC's charismatic leaders, the most famous of whom was Martin Luther King Jr., helped motivate the masses of black people to participate in marches, boycotts, and other direct protests at the local and even state and national levels. The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) was a southern organization committed to a nonviolent but direct approach to protesting discrimination. They targeted the most strife-torn areas of the South and lived in communities, helping to educate black people about their rights and to cultivate indigenous leadership. One of the areas in which SNCC worked diligently to protest discrimination was in southwest Georgia around Albany. CORE, or the Congress of Racial Equality, formed in Chicago in 1942 as an interracial organization focused on social justice. Its methods were strictly nonviolent, and its leadership style was democratic. In the 1960s it sponsored numerous projects in the South to test discriminatory laws that clearly represented conflicts between federal and state statutes, such as the segregation of interstate buses and bus stations. All of these groups increased pressure on local, state, and federal government to recognize racial equality. The pro-NAACP lawyers in Georgia, including Atlantan Donald Hollowell, remained very involved in the legal aspects of promoting anti-discrimination laws, while branch members throughout the state stayed directly engaged in protest and organization. The passage of the Civil Rights Act (1964) and Voting Rights Act (1965) eliminated legal discrimination in the public sphere. Many black Georgians joined the NAACP in the years after Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination in 1968. Robert Flanagan of Atlanta, the state's field director in those years, reported a new sense of fearlessness and activism, especially in the smaller towns around the state. Promotion of black voter registration, despite continued intimidation by county registrars in the state, became the focus of NAACP activity. Flanagan went on to become the president of the state conference of branches and to oversee the gradual growth of the organization and the number of black voters registered in the 1970s. The number of black elected officials in Georgia has increased steadily since that period. More recently the NAACP has focused on discrimination in the private sector, especially where it hinders economic opportunities for minorities. The NAACP branches follow and support the strategic initiatives established by the national board through membership dues and participation in activities at the state and local level. Many of these initiatives are handled by the NAACP legal department, which seeks to press cases, especially class actions, that have broad significance in mitigating discrimination in private businesses and corporations. Voter registration continues to be an important emphasis for the NAACP at the local, state, and national levels. In addition, each local branch provides a contact point for complaints of racial discrimination at the local level, which can then be investigated by the field and branch services of the national organization if necessary. In 2005, Mr. Edward O. Dubose was elected President of the State Conference with a promise to restore the vitality of the organization to address the complex issues of race, equity and power in the Twenty-First Century. The Association has since realized and 30 percent increase of membership and a rechartering of many once dormant Branches. The first book listed does not appear to be about the salt lines specifically. Assuming it mentions Salt Lines within, some page numbers would be useful for verifying the information found in this article. The Guichard (note the spelling) book is of dubious reliability. Everything I've seen about salt lines references it; it's possible that this is merely an unconfirmed theory of Guichard's. We need more evidence that these lines actually existed before writing an encyclopedia entry on them. |

The listed source explicitly says "From Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia." Sure enough, Wikipedia used to have an article on Mr. Welker, but it was deleted as a copyright violation. Essentially, this article is attempting to use a deleted version of the same article as a source. That's not good enough, however notable Mr. Welker may be. Please find a more appropriate source that reliably documents his notability. As an additional item, please note that Wikipedia is NOT a memorial site. The information at the end of this entry about where to direct memorial contributions is entirely inappropriate for an encyclopedia. |

OTN Comic (also known as OTN, Old Trafford News Comic) is a 3-framed comic strip featured in the independant community newspaper - Old Trafford News. Its purpose is to put a comedic spin on the local news, creating a gag relating to the featured news within its three frames. It was first published in the Summer 2007 edition of Old Trafford News, in which it made humour around the subject of satisfaction increasing in the local area. Generally the jokes are of a naive manner, making it suitable for young children. The style is somewhat abstract - showing influence from both Western and Eastern art. Most noticable are the bright colors and unusual representation of humans in a chibi-esque manner (mainly seen through the seemingly fingerless hands and lack of major detail). So far only two characters have been presented. A young man, who is so far nameless, and a young woman named Maya. The man appears to have spikey hair (though unsually, in a The Simpsons-like style, it is the same color as his skin), wears a long blue sweater, dark pants and large turqoise shoes. In addition, he tends to be of a cheery disposition. Maya has bright pink hair and wears a purple sweater, she appears to be more serious than her collegue and was a newspaper 'agony aunt' (as noted when she states this in the first episode that she has lost her job as an agony aunt due to happiness increasing). It can be assumed that the man works as some form of journalist as well. It is believe that these characters are designed to represent the multicultural spread in Old Trafford, Manchester - most notably, Maya appears to be of south Asian descent, as her skin is darker than her collegue's and her name is of Hindi origin. The stated creator of the comic is Hannah (Chana) Henderson, a young Manchester-based artist. Henderson was 16 years of age when the comic was first published. Other work by this artist would include artowrk featured on the drum-kit of the independant band The Phonophobics (a small 'HH' is present near the artwork, however it is commonly thought to be two P's, one upside down). The artwork in this case featured a gray gramophone with a banned sign (similiar to that of a no-smoking sign)circling the instrument.
