Initial Report[edit]

Internet for Learning[edit]

synopsis: this range of IP's apparantly belongs to a UK company, Research Machines, which provides a service called Internet for Learning to several schools and public libraries in the UK, including Marling School, Estover Community College, a public library in Bath, etc. At least one two respected Wikipedia administrators, user:Celestianpower and User:Sceptre, rely on this service. However even a superficial glance reveals that these IP's are collectively responsible for MASSIVE amounts of childish vandalism. I know they are just a bunch of silly kids, but look how much trouble and effort they cause. There must be some way of dealing with this, other than the constant short term blocks that don't even put an immediate end to vandalism sprees, because the same users simply switch computers and continue (I had my user page vandalised by one of these IP's soon after blocking other IP's in the same range). Two Three of the IP's have been indefinitely blocked as open proxies. I don't really understand why it's okay to block two three of them, but not all of them? Or at least, all but the one used by CelestianPower? And there should probably be a uniform template for all of them (not sure I have the savvy to create it myself)--woggly 12:23, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
