User:Darkstaown was indef blocked two years ago for vandalism, and entered #wikipedia-en-unblock last night requesting to be unblocked (which is how we know the IP address, through reverse lookup). The unblock was granted, on the condition that further vandalism would result in an abuse report to the ISP. Here's the request for said abuse report, because Darkstaown promptly got him/herself blocked again. The IP address has no edits, however we (the admins in the unblock channel) feel that this sort of abuse is not to be tolerated.

What follows is the IRC log of the conversation. According to the guidelines of #wikipedia-en-unblock, this log may be published for public viewing. This local guideline supersedes the guidelines at m:IRC. Please note that for length concerns, unrelated discussions have been removed. - Hmm, this one's tough. We generally don't deal with usernames unless we're talking about an IP sock. However, we seem to know the IP in this case, but if the guy is on a dynamic IP, the vandalism logs might not match the ISP's logs. Perhaps we should contact the foundation? I don't know, it's only been blocked three times. I'm tempted to reject this one, but I'm not gonna, this one needs a second opinion. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 23:59, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- I agree with GO-PCHS-NJROTC. I'm not sure there's a whole lot that filing an abuse report with the ISP is going to accomplish, since other than this incident, the most recent one was two years ago.
