A barnstar for you![edit]

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
...And we have another new editor who does anti vandalism work. How are we all the same? – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 07:35, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@AssumeGoodWraith: How very kind of you! :D
I will certainly cherish this barnstar. Best wishes to your own anti-vandalism efforts! Shells-shells (talk) 08:08, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I've got a recent changes filter if you'd like to look into that – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 08:10, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, the highlighting looks very helpful; I'll definitely be using that feature. Thank you for the advice! Shells-shells (talk) 08:19, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Errors in Wikisource texts[edit]

Hi Shells-shells. Thank you for adding wikisource links to the page Kural. Just random checked a few things and surprisingly I found a few errors in the Wikisource text out there ([1]). For example, the chapters on "Complaisance", "Charity", and "Glory" (Chapters 22, 23, and 24, respectively) all appear as "In praise of the Lord" in the TOC. The translation of Verse 251 (Chapter 26) in the Wikisource reads "How can be feel pity, who cateth other flesh in order to fatten his own ?", while the actual translation by V. V. S. Aiyar is "How can he feel pity, who eateth other flesh in order to fatten his own?" There seems to be several like this. Is there any way to correct these errors in the Wikisource? Appears like the Wikisource text requires another round of proofreading. Thanks. Rasnaboy (talk) 09:32, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Rasnaboy: This text does indeed need another round of proofreading for it to be validated. If you would like to help out, proofreading is done in the Page namespace, where it is then transcluded to Main; the proper page can be found by clicking "Source" in the upper left corner (where Talk normally is in Wikipedia) and locating the right page, or by clicking the page number in square brackets on the left side (in this case, "[55]"—though this last may not be visible if you're using a different skin). Here, for example, are the pages at issue: Page:The Kural or The Maxims Of Tiruvalluvar.pdf/9 and Page:The Kural or The Maxims Of Tiruvalluvar.pdf/114. If you want to contribute further (which would be lovely :D), you might also take a look at Wikisource:For Wikipedians, Help:Beginner's guide to proofreading, or some of the other help pages. Thank you, Shells-shells. :) Will see if I could help in any way. Rasnaboy (talk) 04:47, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
