November 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jetstreamer. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Cubana de Aviación destinations, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. French Caribbean flags[edit]

Hey thanks for your edits; this has been an issue with the local flag inclusions for some time now. Just wondering if you know anything about the flags used for Collectivity of Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy, which are both territories of France also (currently the locals are used and I am doubtful about their usage officially). Your input would be greatly appreciated! Savvyjack23 (talk) 21:00, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Savvyjack23, it has been an issue for some time indeed. Some people kept changing it to these so-called local flags, even though Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana and Reunion Island have neither official flags nor coats of arms. However, as their mainland counterparts, each island has their own " logo" flag associated with their local governing institution. Concerning Collectivity of Saint Martin, the flag and coat of arms are correct and have both official status on the island with the French flag. For Saint Barthélemy, it's a bit different. At the request of the Direction of French Archives, the local collectivity adopted in the 1980s its new coat of arms as its flag : Territorial_Council_of_Saint_Barthélemy. Therefore it is official on the island with the French flag. The "unofficial" should be changed to official. Personally, I prefer the use of the official local flag for the French overseas territories (if there is one) as the French flag represents the country as a whole. --Maxxies (talk) 00:35, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
