COI[edit]

Information icon Hello, KXShap. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Canterbury Tail talk 17:25, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Continued clear COI and unsourced editing[edit]

If you continue to ignore WP:COI as indicated above, you will be blocked from editing. Additionally your editing to change the name of KX Systems to just KX is disruptive when their name is clearly KX Systems as very clearly indicated on their website and materials and all the references in the articles. Canterbury Tail talk 22:56, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Canterbury Tail,
Thank you for the information above and I can confirm I'm happy to adhere. However, I would like to flag that 'KX Systems' is the registered business name but the brand name is simply just 'KX' hence why the domain is kx.com.
Kind regards,

March 2023[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

At first, I wasn't sure how to disclose a conflict of interest as a paid editor. But now that I do and have made it clear on my talk page - please unblock. KXShap (talk) 09:45, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This is not the only problem. How would your future edits differ from your inappropriate prior edits? Yamla (talk) 09:59, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

The only change I have made so far is updating 'Kx Systems' to 'KX' which is the correct brand name. Not sure why this violates Wikipedia policy. The only other future edit I will be making is 'Move' 'Kx Systems' to 'KX'.

Decline reason:

The change itself does not necessarily violate policy, but you performing it does. 331dot (talk) 15:48, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note that you'd be free to suggest edits on the article's talk page. That said, you aren't likely to be unblocked unless you wish to become a general editor; see WP:SPA. --Yamla (talk) 15:54, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It should also be noted that KX Systems own websites and published material states that KX Systems is the correct full company name, not KX, and that KX appears to just be a sub-branding or stylization. As a result the edits from this account and some others are continually against what the sources state and break links with the edits. Canterbury Tail talk 23:06, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
