Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Notice

The book Book:Test testy test has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be a test page

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, books may be deleted for several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated book prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the book's talk page.

Please consider improving the book to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated book prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes still exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and the miscellany for deletion process allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Passengerpigeon (talk) 02:35, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I didn't exactly know that all books were public. This was a small test, so just delete it. bytey 02:57, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

  • No worries; I have tagged it for speedy deletion per your request. Passengerpigeon (talk) 08:42, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't a misunderstanding. Both of you have been acting inappropriately. Wikipedia is a serious project, not a social network. --Yamla (talk) 21:40, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry[edit]

Hi Bytey, I've been looking into your connection with Marco12345678910111213141516171819202122232425, Marco502p. and Marco1234567891011121314151617181920. I'm reasonably convinced that you are all the same person from a technical standpoint (see: WP:CHECKUSER, I have access to data from system logs.). I would like to offer you this opportunity to explain what's going on here. Otherwise, I'm going to {{checkuserblock}} the remaining 3 accounts until the block is lifted on Marco12345678910111213141516171819202122232425. SQLQuery me! 21:53, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I never registered Marco12345678910111213141516171819202122232425, a friend did.
I ended up registering him a new account since his name was too long, then giving it to him since he had trouble with the human verification, and now that's his main. bytey(talk) 21:56, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bytey, Just so I'm sure we're clear here - you're saying that a friend did, on the same device, using the name that you had from the other accounts, from the same connection? SQLQuery me! 21:59, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I registered Marco502p for him, he registered Marco12345678910111213141516171819202122232425, using different devices, not from the same IP. bytey(talk) 22:02, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This account, and Marco502p share the same browser, and IP. Marco502p shares a different (identical) IP and browser with Marco12345678910111213141516171819202122232425 and Marco1234567891011121314151617181920 . I see you active, Marco502p, Marco1234567891011121314151617181920, and Marco12345678910111213141516171819202122232425 in a short span. SQLQuery me! 22:10, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Since I registered the account Marco502p for a friend, it's reasonable why it says the same IP for registration. For the us being active in short spans of time, me and the friend in question were in a call, he was signing in to both accounts a bit often to fix up things.
There was an extra account in the mix? I thought there was only 2.. bytey(talk) 22:18, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)Alright, I think we edit conflicted above, and I missed some of that. I'm going to block the remaining Marco accounts until Marco12345678910111213141516171819202122232425's block is resolved. SQLQuery me! 22:18, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Take (much) more care, please[edit]

I'm not sure what you thought this revert was doing]: you restored a large chunk of completely irrelevant trivia about a completely different topic to the article (which had already been correctly removed in its entirety). 2A02:C7F:BE04:700:351D:5D4E:DE6:966F (talk) 11:15, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh sorry, thought it was vandalism. iceinabucket(talk) 14:43, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I got blocked.[edit]

Well, at least I learned that people have rights to remove warnings.

September 2020[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
Your behavior at User talk:Iiswhoiisbxtch was way out of line. Editors have the right to remove warmings from their talk pages, and repeatedly adding back the warnings is harassment. Do not ever edit war again. This is not a game. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:34, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, didn't realize people had the right to remove warnings. I'll just keep it simple and make one warning. iceinabucket(talk) 16:35, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you do not fully understand policies and guidelines about warnings, userpages and edit warring, then why are you giving warnings? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:37, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's a really good point... during my block i'll be reading the Wikipedia policies. iceinabucket(talk) 16:39, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Start by reading Wikipedia:User pages § Removal of comments, notices, and warnings and Wikipedia: Edit warring. Edit warring is serious misconduct. If you repeat it, the blocks will escalate, so please don't do it again. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:52, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thank you. iceinabucket(talk) 16:55, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A special thanks[edit]

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Hello, Iceinabucket. I wanted to personally thank you for your assistance on User talk:Iiswhoiisbxtch. Sorry that it resulted in your block. We were doing what we thought was right, and we both learned a lesson today. Regardless, it is clear that you are determined and relentless at stopping vandalism. I just wanted thank you for helping me out.  Thank you very much! Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 16:40, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome @EDG 543:! iceinabucket(talk) 16:41, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Iceinabucket: I'm happy to report that the vandal has (finally) been blocked. Our efforts were not in vain. Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 16:57, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's great @EDG 543:! iceinabucket(talk) 17:15, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are both very wrong about vandalism and that editor's only edit to mainspace was to undo a redirect which is not vandalism. Both of you, please give intense study to the precise definition at Wikipedia: Vandalism. Flinging around unfounded accusations of vandalism will not be tolerated. The misbehavior of the two of you acting together was far worse than that single misguided edit. You ganged up and repeated the misconduct over and over again. It looks an awful lot like harassment and bullying when I look at the history of that talk page. There was a real person begging to be left alone but you hammered them over and over again, 15 times. I expect much better behavior from the two of you going forward. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 17:26, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then. iceinabucket(talk) 17:28, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Cullen328: Thank you for informing us. Our intentions were not to bully the user, we thought that by removing the warnings, they were attempting to cover up evidence in the sockpuppet investigation against them. We were wrong in what we did, we do not deny that at all. Again, thank you for informing us. Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 17:44, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to how I behave on Wikipedia.[edit]

My break is still not over, as I am still blocked.

I have however, changed. I may change more during the duration of the block that's left.

I will no longer make it my main priority to undo any contribution of any person who vandalizes Wikipedia. My new main priority is to welcome new users who have made useful contributions to Wikipedia. This does not mean that I won't undo obvious vandalism I see however. I will still undo obvious vandalism from users.

I'm also going to be more careful with my contributions, as I have gotten a comment on my talk page from an IP about me undoing an edit that actually was useful.

Seeing as I am still "new" to Wikipedia, I will be careful with how I do things here. I still have a lot to learn from Wikipedia.

I would like to thank Cullen328 for blocking me, as this has helped me see things i've done wrong on Wikipedia. If they never would have blocked me, I would still be careless with most of my edits. Thank you for reading. iceinabucket(talk) 03:48, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think you have the potential to be a very good editor, if you learn from your mistakes and move on productively. There is nothing wrong with reverting vandalism but you need to develop the skill to accurately detect the boundary line between genuine vandalism and other types of poor quality edits. Think of the motivation. People who are trying clumsily to improve the encyclopedia are not vandals, even if there is a promotional intention behind their edits, and even if their edits break a policy or a guideline. Vandals, on the other hand, are actively and consciously trying to damage the encyclopedia. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:16, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. iceinabucket(talk) 14:33, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello![edit]

I see that you would like to edit pages and make wikipedia a better place! If you really love to, can you please find references for Ionization energies (data page)? I'm really busy (especially with the upcoming classes) and may not contribute much. Thanks! Ice bear johny (talk) 13:20, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Anyways for the references, maybe from NIST or any site with an end of .gov. Anyways for repeating refs, you can just re-cite your refs (idk check what user ponor did on my edits at Ionization energies. Thank you very muchh Ice bear johny (talk) 14:46, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, since I'm not familiar with the subject I just put the Citation needed template for Numerical values. I may come back to it to add refs later though. iceinabucket(talk) 15:11, 21 September 2020 (UTC) (PS: You're younger than me and in high school, that's pretty cool.)[reply]
