Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Dougweller (talk) 14:20, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits[edit]

In order to avoid edit warring changes of era need to follow the guideline at WP:ERA. I've reverted those changes. As you are new, there's no reason for you to have been aware of this. Dougweller (talk) 14:21, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Oz books article[edit]

Your edits to List of Oz books has destroyed the table formatting of the table elements you disturbed. I doubt that was your intention. I have reverted your changes for now, but if you would like, you could go back and make your changes correctly this time (I assume you are an Oz expert, if not I wouldn't suggest making the kinds of changes you made). Be sure to always Preview your work before Saving, to prevent this kind of thing. It is also not necessary to Save multiple times while editing one article, instead the usual practice is to Preview your edits every so often while editing, then Save only once. Good luck. —Prhartcom (talk) 21:00, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome, Hridith Sudev Nambiar, to Wikipedia, and I am glad to hear you are indeed an Oz expert—the project needs them. Please feel free to watch all the Oz articles and do anything you can to make any corrections to any problems you discover, write any improvements where needed, and apply consistency across them all, if you'd like. I am new to the Oz articles also but have a few years of editing experience. I plan to treat what is already edited there with respect (as so many editors have contributed) until I see good opportunities to help. Again, good luck! —Prhartcom (talk) 16:25, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Structure of List of Oz books[edit]

Hridith, can you please help me understand something about the List of Oz books: As I understand it from reading the article, the list of Oz books considered "Other Oz books", beyond those written by Baum, are classified into two categories:

  • Orthodox Oz Sequels that were founded on L. Frank Baum's original canon
  • Unorthodox Oz Sequels that do not follow L. Frank Baum's original canon

And I see in the first sub-section of the "Other Oz books" section, we have orthodox Oz sequels (by Ruth Plumly Thompson, etc). It is a well-written sub-section. But I am confused by the second through sixth sub-sections in this Other Books section, which of the two categories are they? Do they follow the canon or not? And do we really need so many sub-sections? How is one different from another? I am confused by the meaning of some of them, and these new titles are not helping (I would never use the word "sometimes" in the encyclopedia). Maybe this structuring of the sub-sections needs to be made more clear. What are your thoughts? —Prhartcom (talk) 03:56, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dike (mythology), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Eirene. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please participate to the talk pages consultation[edit]

Hello

Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.

We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.

We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.
