[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Abandon All Ships, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. STATic message me! 02:47, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Whether ,I
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Whether ,I requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Piguy101 (talk) 17:48, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Band articles, lists
[edit]Hi,
A quick note to explain why people are deleting pages, removing list entries, etc. Every article on Wikipedia contains information that is verifiable in reliable secondary sources. For a band to have an article of its own it furthermore has to satisfy notability criteria which basically says "it's important enough if enough independent parties write about it in reliable sources." If you don't cite sources or if they don't satisfy notability criteria, the article will almost certainly be deleted. In order to include something on a list, in general it should already have an article (so a list of bands is not a list of ALL bands, but a list of notable bands as defined by having a Wikipedia article). Many lists require including a citation to show belonging. I couldn't add Backstreet Boys to List of post-hardcore bands because there's no source saying they belong to that genre. Going in myself and adding "post-hardcore" to the Backstreet Boys article likewise doesn't count because it's just my own original research rather than a citation to a reliable source.
This can all be a bit confusing at first, but it's these rules that keep Wikipedia from becoming a free-for-all list of what anybody wants. --— Rhododendrites talk | 19:19, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from changing genres, as you did to Attack Attack!, without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. STATic message me! 18:24, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
