Measurement Units

User:Ytrottier#Measurement Units

  1. In Canadian parlance, "US customary units" are, from a Canadian standpoint, correctly referred to as "imperial units". The exceptions are the US fluid ounce, the USD pint, the US quart and the US gallon. The imperial gallon is essentially the British gallon.
  2. It is Canadian practice to refer to a 4 x 4 angle as a nominal 100 x 100. METRIC STRUCTURAL STEEL DESIGH DATA, Canadian Institute of Steel Construction, 201 Consumers road, Suite 300/301, Willowdale (North York), Ontario, M2J 4G8. Peter Horn 17:54, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. I'm Canadian myself, so I appreciate this. I've corrected my profile page.--Yannick (talk) 23:29, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Nopetro

He's not being malicious, just not understanding the policy. He does it because he's not a native English speaker and can't paraphrase very well. Help him understand the issue, and if you have time offer to paraphrase the better chunks of info he's trying to add. He's come along as an editor, and I hope positive criticism will help in the long run. NJGW (talk) 06:37, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

OK, I'll try, but mentoring new editors is not really one of my interests. Sorry if that sounds unfriendly, but as a volunteer, I figure I get to pick the type of work I enjoy.--Yannick (talk) 02:06, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Removal of public financing section from Geothermal heat pump

Your explanation is that it was to delete a copyright violation. But the source is a government site and specifically states that all material is public domain.--Sphilbrick (talk) 12:10, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

True, my mistake. Fully answered here.

Geothermal heat pump

I see your point about the sentence ordering in the first paragraph of Geothermal heat pump. I have restored to the order before my edit. BTW, I recently put together the Sustainable energy infobox. I wonder if you could drop by the talk page to give a comment. Thanks LK (talk) 03:03, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Solary energy peer review

Thanks very much for your comments. Lots to do then, but the article will be better for it. I'll try and get some comments on the geothermal article done today. Best wishes. Itsmejudith (talk) 09:19, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Reversion of changes in COP15 article

Some alterations you have made to the COP15 article, namely with China, India and others, have had varied quality. Several other editors such as User:124.170.161.55 and User:Colipon have expressed the need for quality. There are more deeper issues regarding accounting methods that require clarification if they are to be used in this article. Please add to the discussion at Talk:United_Nations_Climate_Change_Conference_2009#Brazil_and_other_comparative_conversions so that those changes of quality you make are included and those that lack quality (such as containing WP:OR) either gain quality or are reverted.124.170.138.76 (talk) 05:04, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
