Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first — it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, AVSmalnad77 talk 07:20, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads[edit]

Hi. Be sure to see your talk page on Wikimedia Commons. Do not make false claims to be the author of works by other people. -- Infrogmation (talk) 13:44, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies. I'm the Archivist for Xavier University of Louisiana, we've been rediscovering old photographs in our archives and I wanted to make sure at least some of them were added into the Wikipedia pages of the University. Previously, I attempted to upload photographs with as much copyright information as possible, but they were removed almost instantly. Since a lot of the pictures are 50-90yrs old, I figured I could upload them, as I'm acting on behalf of the University. Please let me know what I need to do to correct everything. - Vinny Yourcousinvinny614 (talk) 13:57, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great, I'll be glad to help if photos can be determined to be legitimately free licensed for whatever reason. Please discuss on Commons (the sister project where images are stored and can can be used by Wikipedias in all languages). My talk page on Commons ; I've also placed your talk page on Commons on my watch list. Cheers, -- Infrogmation (talk) 22:21, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

July 2023[edit]

Information icon Hi Yourcousinvinny614! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Xavier Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:01, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
