A cup of tea for you!

For your continued work on the page David Hamilton (photographer). I've been following the progress made especially in the sections death and alleged rape and find myself very impressed with the combined effort by all. Thank you Maineartists (talk) 23:21, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

@Maineartists: Thanks! Yintan  07:38, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Speedy CSD tagging

Please be careful not to immediately tag articles for CSD, as you did at [1]. Even though the edit-a-thon is currently running and producing a lot of articles, you should still wait. Dat GuyTalkContribs 10:53, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

@DatGuy:Don't worry, I am careful. But an article about a 13 year old boy in Pakistan, written by that same boy, is never going to meet WP:N. Yintan  10:57, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
I agree, unless they pull a Malala Yousafzai out of their hat. It's still always good to be wary and let it go for a few minutes. Dat GuyTalkContribs 10:59, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Speedy delete Yago Roche ¿Why?

A few days ago I created the wikipedia of the Spanish singer Yago Roche that he was a member of the Boyband Clover. They were sponsored by the Backstreet Boys and performed mass tours in Spain being nominated for several prizes in the Neox Kids Award Spain and Los40, I don't understand why you decided to delete the page when your video "solider" was broadcast on the MTVLA ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yago_Roche --ShayminCat (talk) 00:33, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

@ShayminCat: Hi. As the message on your Talkpage says, the article was tagged for deletion because Yago Roche doesn't meet the notability criteria. In other words, the article didn't show that he was famous enough to be on Wikipedia (yet). You can read more about that at WP:MUSICBIO and WP:SIGNIF. But if you think you can improve the article and show that Roche does meet the criteria, you can ask for it to be undeleted here. Kind regards, Yintan  08:24, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
@Yintan: Hi.I want to congratulate you, from my heart, you really think that the page should not be in wikipedia and now I do not know how to restore or request that you restore it because it is much easier to have the power to say "deleted fast" than to actually use the " Talk "and make the consultation, I have anger and impotence, an artist who has sounded on MTVLA being from Spain and you consider that he does not deserve to be here. I would ask you from the heart because thanks to you the page has been deleted that please re-establish it, I do not know how to request this again. ShayminCat (talk) 02:24, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
@ShayminCat: For clarity, I'm not the one who decides if a page is deleted nor do I have that "power". Deletion is up to, and done by, admins. And again, if you want it undeleted, ask for that here. Yintan  10:05, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
Just wanted to chime in (apologies for being all over your talk page recently, just caught my eye): in the future, A7 undeletion requests should not be forwarded to Requests for Undeletion (same with G11 and any other criteria). Only contested PRODs, abandoned AfCs, and maintenance speedy deletions are restored there. ShayminCat, you should go to the page you created and find the administrator who deleted your page, then ask them if they can restore your article - perhaps as an Articles for Creation draft so that you can continue working on it without the potential for deletion. If the administrator does not restore the page and you can explain why it should be restored, you may then go to deletion review and get a few other opinions on the deletion there. Declining CSD G1

Hello! I suggest that this article declining. As I suggest, I will strong keep this article. Open Source 2.0 (talk) 05:03, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

@Open Source 2.0:Sorry, but it's impossible to figure out what the article is about. I can't, at least. Google has never heard of a 'scare factor' and the article doesn't make things any clearer: "In 1900s, scare factor has used for any reasons why many people scared from any terroring logos. Such any respects will be decreased the scare factor." With all due respect, are you sure your English is good enough to be writing articles on the English Wikipedia? If you want to keep the article, please explain so on its Talk page. Kind regards, Yintan  05:09, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
@Yintan:Keep but no evidence to any reasons.Hello, here's the exact thing. When the WIKIA Administrator add closinglogos wikia here, the scare factor will be suggested. Open Source 2.0 (talk) 07:57, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
@Open Source 2.0:I'm really sorry but I have no idea what you're trying to say. Yintan  09:29, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
@Yintan:Keep here's other. Open Source 2.0 (talk) 10:42, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
@Open Source 2.0: Here's other what? Yintan  18:26, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion nomination of Chetan Cheenu

Hello Yintan. Speedy deletion work is important and I do appreciate the effort. I would just ask that you please review the criteria carefully because accuracy is also important. On that issue, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Chetan Cheenu as an article that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the topic under CSD A7. That criterion did not apply because the actor has multiple non-extra roles in notable films. Appable (talk) 06:28, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

I also declined James G. Pappas because of the claim (supported by a few, not-entirely-independent but seemingly reliable primary sources) that he had 50 exhibits in New York and exhibits outside the country - which indicates he may potentially be notable. Appable (talk) 06:31, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
@Appable: "Potentially notable"? Mister Pappas fails WP:ARTIST by a mile. Yintan  09:28, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
I agree that Pappas is likely not notable, but the fact that his work was shown in multiple foreign galleries and many local galleries is a sign that the criterion regarding gallery exhibitions in WP:ARTIST may be met (if sources say). It's not entirely likely in that I would expect it to be deleted at AfD unless some very interesting new sources were found, but it's enough that I don't think it should be uncontroversially removed through CSD. Appable (talk) 06:54, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
I also declined Pop & Suki. This one didn't seem to make much sense to me - not only is it strongly affiliated with a notable person, but there were quite a lot of reliable sources that supported claims made in the article to the extent that I wouldn't even consider a PROD. Appable (talk) 06:34, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
@Appable: As far as this one goes, I fail to see how a company that exists about three weeks is notable. The links are nothing but press blurbs about the launch. And then there's WP:INHERITORG. Yintan  09:28, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
While I agree that notability is not inherited, an article with a strong association with a notable entity inherits significance in my view. Remember that A7 only asks for a credible claim of significance, not notability. An affiliation with a notable entity does not guarantee that a subject is independently notable, of course. However, it makes it significantly more likely that there will be reliable sources that cover that topic. As an example, OpenAI initially got coverage because it was affiliated with Elon Musk and other notable billionaires, but now receives independent coverage. So a strong connection to a notable entity can indicate at least that the subject is significant, if not notable. Relevant RfC, which concluded that significance can be inherited to some degree. Appable (talk) 06:54, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
@Appable:Summing up, I've taken the lot to AfD. Cheers, Yintan  18:30, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
Thanks! I think that's the best route for the articles, as I don't think any of them are notable (maybe Pop & Suki?) but I do think they all have credible claims of significance. Appable (talk) 06:54, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Rjensen and BLP

I'm surprised no one notified you, but there's a discussion on WP:ANI that may be of interest to you given your own involvement in the issue. Hijiri 88 (やや) 08:49, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

@Hijiri88: Thanks for the heads up, I've added my 2 cents. I'm amazed this thing is still going. I thought it was pretty clear cut and would be solved quickly but it has been drawn out beyond belief. It's been running for almost a month now. What's that expression about mole hills and mountains again? Amazing. Anyway, it's time it got sorted. Yintan  10:02, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
No, only the most recent instance has been running for almost a month now. The actual problem has been running on and off for the better part of a decade! Hijiri 88 (やや) 13:18, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
@Hijiri88: Ah, the fun we have... [groan]... Yintan  13:21, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
