Rosogolla

Hello Yamaguchi先生,

What makes you reverse the spelling Rosogolla and রসগোল্লা (in Bengali) in the article Rasgulla?

You should have known before deleting the words, that the spelling "Rosogolla" (রসগোল্লা) was spelt by me correctly. Please be informed that it is a Bengali word রসগোল্লা =(রস+গোল্লা) and the meaning of রস [rasa] = a syrup; juice; exudation and গোল্লা = [gōllā] n a globular sweetmeat (রসগোল্লা, কাঁচাগোল্লা), please refer online Bengali dictionary, for the word (rasa+gōllā) = (রস+গোল্লা) or frequently spelt as "Rosogolla", here http://www.ovidhan.org/b2b/রস and here http://www.ovidhan.org/b2b/গোল্লা . Therefore, you should not have deleted a correct spelling.

In fact, the spelling of the article Rasgulla and the other spelling mentioned therein are not from original language but more what other language speaking Indians spelt. Therefore those words require correction too. However, I have kept them intact only included original and correct spelling.

Please note, when written in English Language, the sweet (article) correctly spelt as "Rosogolla" and "রসগোল্লা" in Bengali Language, but you have arbitrarily deleted both of them.

Please note that I am a very old Wikipedian, so I know very well how to edit the pages.

Therefore, on the above mentioned grounds, Please reverse those words, you have erroneously deleted.

Your changes were redundant with the "alternate names" field in the Infobox template, and listing a dozen different spelling variations in the lede is simply not desirable. Pocky sticks

Yes that is correct, the file Pocky-Sticks.jpg depicts the original Pocky. I agree that Pocky_custard_fondu.jpg is a good quality image, and is pleasing to the eye as well. I see no reason why it cannot be included as a variant in the article. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 23:38, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
Well, OK. I don't want to cause more disturbance, could you find a place for it somewhere? Somethig that is a good compromise. Generally featured picture candidates are required to be used in somewhat good position in the article, like not in the gallery, otherwise it would be OK anywhere, I guess. deletion

"unsourced new article" is not a reason for deletion, except for Biographies of living people. The criterion is that is cannot be sourced., that it is unsourceable--that a reasonable search has failed to find any sources. DGG ( talk ) 02:16, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello DGG, I believe you are misinterpreting one of my earlier comments. I will add that I admire your work, and value your time and extensive history of contributions to our encyclopedia. Is it possible that you are focusing on an argument in part, rather than in whole? I ask because I agree with your statement regarding deletion rationale, and how it applies to biographies of living persons and other articles. Should you wish to carry this discussion further, would you please provide a diff for the quote you are citing. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding, and thank you for your commentary. The Syrupy Sweets in a nutshell. - A fact

  • Khiramohana or, Kheer Mohan is a creamish sweet popular & invented in Odisha since the Jagannath Temple, Puri came into existence. The sweet, offered to the goddess Lakshmi during the Rath Yatra of the temple. Now, the sweet is though made of chhena and cooked in sugar syrup but there is no concrete evidence that chhena, which we know today, existed at the time of the sweet's invention. It is very unlikely of its existence then.
  • NB: Kheer in Kheer Mohan, suggests a condensed milk pudding, is not chhena.
  • Pahala Rasgulla, the descendant and an alternative name of Khiramohana , is a yellowish brown, crumbly, syrupy sweet popular & available only in Pahala region of Odisha.
  • Rosogolla is a light spongy white ball of chhana stewed in sugar syrup (rasa). The form of Rosogolla that we know today is different from Khiramohana of Odisha in various aspects. Evidenly, Nobin Chandra Das of Kolkata, West Bengal, discovered the sweet. Its alternative names are Rossogolla, Rasagolla & Roshogolla, and its variations are Kamala Bhog, Raj Bhog, Roso Malai etc. The name of the sweet is anglicize to Rasgulla, after many non-Bengali speaking Indians started calling it by this name.

I am tired of repeating that it is a valid source. It does not matter any more because everyone knows his birthday and age APART from Wikipedia. Recent revert

Hi, I would like to know in a recent edit I made to the Avocado page, what was the innapropiate tone I used.

Also, as a puertorican culinary chef the sources are my coleagues, myself and my 32 year experience in the field. Not including the almost 60 I've lived on the island. It is very difficult to include a source for something that is mostly cultural and "common knowledge" (at least in Puerto Rico) and since it seemed to give information on various countries' uses for it, I thought I would share a bit of culinary, folkloric and cultural significance of the avocado in my country.

Unless there is a page named "What the avocado means in the countries of the world's culture" or you somehow possess more knowledge of avocados un Puerto Rico, then I am failing to understand the revert.

I believe it is a very helpful tidbit of knowledge for culinary conossieurs and lovers of the fruit.

Please let me finish the entire editing work and then revert the changes if you want. On wikipedia, we should ,mention every film of the actor. I have been monitoring this page for several months now as it is a frequent target for vandalism, misinformation, and poorly sourced or otherwise unsourced WP:BLP changes. With your recent edits, you introduced websites such as FILM-ACTORS-YOU.BLOGSPOT.IN, CELEBRITYWOOD.COM, IDLEBRAIN.COM, IQLIKMOVIES.COM, IMDB.COM, INDIAGLITZ.COM as well as Wikipedia itself as a reference for biographical content. User-generated websites, blogs, social media websites are generally speaking not desirable for WP:BLP articles, and in most cases not acceptable. The secondary issue is tone and neutral point of view.
