Additional notes: I would like to see if you can convert usage of {{WikiProject Seattle}} to the new form above at the same time. The old tag has recently been depreciated. Because if not, I will need to convert the old tags over first, as this may cause tag duplication. AdmrBoltz 04:42, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Additional notes: Requesting auto-stub and automatic assessement for stub class only. No automatic tagging. Voceditenore (talk) 06:56, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be sure I'm not misunderstanding: Do you want to automatically assess articles with a stub tag as stub-class and also inherit classes from other project? And for the inheriting, do you want to inherit all classes? - EdoDodo talk 08:18, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We'd like all articles with a stub tag plus inherit stub class if one of the other talk page banners rate it as stub, but inherit only stub class, no other classes. Voceditenore (talk) 06:37, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, understood. Are you sure you want to inherit stub only? I can understand that you don't want to inherit start, B and C ratings because those are given out fairly loosely without much thought, but the GA, FA, and FL ratings have been reviewed so I see no reason why you wouldn't want to inherit those. Also, the list-class rating should really also be inherited since if one project rates an article as a list, there really isn't any reason why others shouldn't. Up to you, though. Whatever you decide, let me know, and I'll run this request in the next few days. - EdoDodo talk 07:00, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you're right. I'd forgotten about GA, FA and FL. Those should be inherited too as well as List class. Thanks so much for your help. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 09:52, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, got you. Will run this one soon. - EdoDodo talk 10:06, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... It wouldn't be too difficult to get the bot to automatically run monthly. It's what I've been working towards by adding things like configuration files, and I'm fairly close now. All I need is a method of loading the category list from wiki instead of from a file, and the bot can run fully automatically without any human intervention. I'll see if I can work something out next week - have exams this week, so can't at the moment. - EdoDodo talk 21:48, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Additional notes: Per Zappernapper. Still waiting on confirmation as to whether the Mammals banner is to be removed at the same time, or if the child project hook is to be used. –xenotalk 14:40, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

hey xeno, so i waited a week at the mammal project to see if anyone objected to removing their banner from pages using {{Rodent}}. There appeared to be no objections from the wikiproject, with support from fellow members of the rodent wikiproject. Again, the list of articles to tag with {{rodent}} is located at Wikipedia:WikiProject Rodents/Scope list. Thanx! --ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 02:26, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree no one seems to have a problem with it, I cannot seem to find the discussion we had about it before, I was hoping Ucucha could remember where it was, oh well I can only see it benifit the project as those articles will now get more attention. ZooPro 06:43, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It would be ideal if we could find that past discussion. It's better to ensure we get these things right the first time, so the Mammals project doesn't later decide to re-tag them all. –xenotalk 14:55, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think ZooPro might be thinking of the template doc which has remained unchanged for over a year. Not like that really proves consensus, but i think the dearth of interest in the topic on the mammal page proves the point that no one there really wants to keep an eye on the Celebes Rat. -15:19, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
I have tried to find the discussion without success, I cannot remember if it was on the Mammals talk page or the Rodents talk page, I have given up searching. In light of not being able to find the discussion I will have to retract my statement about censensus, I suppose given the lack of opposition to your suggestion be bold and go ahead with it. You haven't made it clear if you want the bot to auto-assess articles. Also please ensure there is consensus for this from the project, you may use {{subst:User talk:Xenobot/R|WP:APO|Wikipedia:WikiProject Anthroponymy/Category list}} at the project page to do so. –xenotalk 18:27, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I assumed, as per convention, that the default was in CAPS ... I edited the submission to clarify. The Project is essentially abandoned so I'm looked to get her back in shape. Can we go as is? --Hutcher (talk) 03:57, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It is... but... I guess I ask for clarification anyway ;> And yes, looks like we can go at EdoDodo's convenience. –xenotalk 14:14, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your help--Hutcher (talk) 04:41, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I'd started running this and I was building the page list I thought I'd just ask for a further confirmation that all the categories in the list are relevant, because the list is massive. Category:Human name disambiguation pages alone contains almost 30 000 articles, which seem only slightly relevant to anthroponymy. - EdoDodo talk 09:42, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Is the worklist a little more reasonable without that one category? I agree those are peripheral to the scope of the project. –xenotalk 14:20, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's the only really massive category, without it the list is reasonable. Want me to run it without that category? - EdoDodo talk 06:48, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, let's run with that for now. If consensus is to include the 30k+ articles that can always be done at a later date. –xenotalk 17:39, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Additional notes: Does it work with the categorytree? In other words, will the page Related Categories work or just Categories? Codrinb (talk) 20:00, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Typically the bot will not recurse through the categories because it might get somewhere it shouldn't. For example that tree reaches Category:Muses and Category:DC Comics Amazons. As such, it is usually suggested that a hard-coded exhaustive list is provided. –xenotalk 15:26, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
