Speedy deletion nomination of Kevin Rivers (songwriter)

We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Speedy deletion nomination of Kevin Rivers

I've removed the speedy. As of now, the subject doesn't meet the requirements of WP:NOTE or WP:MUSIC. You should try to get the article to meet some more requirements or else it might get tagged again. -WarthogDemon 01:37, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Flagging Kevin Rivers for further review

Hello, Xandus … I recently encountered the article about Kevin Rivers and in my opinion, it either does not verifiably satisfy the Notability criteria for Biographies, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it violates a copyright.

I am considering tagging Kevin Rivers (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for deletion according to the Deletion policy … I do not have time to examine the article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.

I have created this initial entry on your Talk page because you are either the original author of the article, or else a recent contributor to it; I will leave more detailed information regarding my specific concerns about the article on its Discussion page … please respond either there or on this Talk page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation.

Be sure to read Ownership of articles, and remember that Some Other Editors (including at least one administrator) may not share your opinion about the notability of the article's subject.

I do not mean to imply that your contribution is unappreciated … perhaps you should read Starting an article … and remember, there was a time when I knew less about how Wikipedia works than you know right now.

To quote from Wikipedia:Notability:

If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article.

Sources that are not notable enough to have a Wikipedia article (such as BigNews.biz), are by definition not a "reliable source" … web sites associated with the subject are by definition primary sources, and are thus neither "secondary" nor "independent" … you need to find coverage from a publication like Billboard, or some other respectable trade journal or news service. — 138.88.7.48 (talk) 17:54, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
