SPI Clearking Request
Can you please shut this SPI down Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Zacharyy? It appears to be nothing more then axe grinding. The "sock" to be investigated declares it is a sock on the user page. --Guerillero | My Talk 23:51, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Help needed
Please, I do not know if I can ask you this, but I need help to format a request to investigate sockpuppets. Casliber told me on his talk page to request a clerk to help me. Can you? Sorry if you cannot and thanks for the attention. WWEJobber (talk) 21:32, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
advice please
with respect to Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Arbitration Enforcement sanction handling: currently I am exceedingly enraged by a number of wikipedia-related issues and I would like to take a day or two on wikibreak to decompress, but I have not finished with evidence (and not entirely sure I want to retain all of the points I have made thus far), and would prefer that the process not move on to the next stage before I've had a chance to reconsider things in a more sober mindset. Can you give me a time frame for the process, or some assurance that things won't zoom ahead if I disappear for a bit? --Ludwigs2 22:51, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- It's very unlikely that the Committee will do anything before March 19, and I would be surprised if they did anything before the end of the month. If you want to leave a note in your evidence section that certain parts of it are unfinished, that might be the best way to go. NW (Talk) 01:12, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, that's good to know, and I'll do that later this evening. thanks. --Ludwigs2 01:15, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Action needed
A very distracting tactic is being used on this page and in the actual proceedings. Please warn Hans Adler and Ludwigs2 that bringing me into the discussion will not be allowed to disrupt the proceedings. It's a dirty distraction tactic. I am not part of this case. The comments they have already made should be removed or refactored. -- Brangifer (talk) 17:21, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Soxbot
Hey X, I just wanted to let you know that it appears that SoxBot is going a little crazy cleaning the sandbox, as opposed to waiting 12 hours to clean it; it is cleaning it about one minute after anyone makes an edit to it. I am not sure if this is intentional as the sandbox header says it is cleaned every 12 hours, but I just wanted to let you know in case this is a malfunction. Best, Mifter (talk) 16:25, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've disabled the Sandbox cleaner. It is editing the sandbox way too often, making it unusable for the purpose for which it was intended. See also Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#SoxBot. –xenotalk 17:43, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Bugs, nits, and nots
I was wanting to check how 'experienced' a user was, who I might possibly have upset when I reverted a somewhat POV edit, mainly to know how to respond if they protested. So I clicked on "Edit count" at bottom of their contributions page and got "ș海 does not exist." So I tried putting their user name 虞海 into the edit counter input box manually. Alas, same message.
I even tried encoding the two Chinese characters by hand into UTF-8 and fixing the URL that way
and got back the first message "ș海 does not exist.". So I think I encoded it correctly, but got the same answer. I think that means getting Chinese characters is not working within your tool.
The test case is to click on "Edit count" at bottom of Special:Contributions/虞海.
Oh, cool, I did get the encoding correct, because the copy-n-paste of the user contributions page URL (just above) pasted in the same bit "%E8%99%9E%E6%B5%B7"... which means that that is what you are getting in the URL when the link is clicked?
And so not translating the %XX encoded URL characters correctly somehow? But you _do_ get the second character correct! Maybe the first character 0x865E fails because it has the sign bit set? For reference, UTF-8 encoded %E8%99%9E is hex 0x865E and %E6%B5%B7 is 0x6D77.
Oh, and why didn't I use the bug reporting system you suggest in User:X!/Bugs? Well, if I must give a Google account, then that kind of makes the user name privacy moot, doesn't it? Shenme (talk) 09:24, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- This has long been known to Chinese Wikipedia as a bug: the Chinese Wikipedia Templetes use [http://toolserver.org/~soxred93/pcount/index.php?name={{urlencode:{{urlencode:虞海}}}}&lang=qu&wiki=wikipedia Edit Statistics] (two urlencode) to confront this. ––虞海 (Yú Hǎi) ✍ 13:51, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Incorrect template removal
Hi, see this edit - rather than simply removing the template, the bot should have replaced it with {{uncategorized stub}}
. Thanks. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:24, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
