A belated welcome!

Sorry for the belated welcome, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Wyndham Paul Wise. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

High Steel

[edit]

Hi. I created High Steel. If you have any info from offline sources, please do add to it. BTW, Zoë Druick's book ref is comically wrong: she thinks the Mohawks are from Gananoque (which of course is far away in Ontario) and repeats the error over and over. LOL. Update, June 11

[edit]

Good morning. I was hoping to contribute one more film page, but couldn't find anything on Arcand's first feature, his student film from 1962. So that's it for now for film pages. I have a dozen or so names I want to do that won't need the resources of TIFF's library. I'll pass them on over the summer, then back to the films in the fall. In the meantime, I have been gathering all my material on the web and created a catalogue on my wiki page. Unfortunately, the wiki copyright watchdogs won't allow me to post the covers of my magazine. Not happy about that. Thank you for all your patience. It's been a pleasure working with you. I'll be in touch. Cheers.Wyndham Paul Wise (talk) 09:59, 11 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Linking to yourself

[edit]

Hi Wyndham, hope you're well. I'd respectfully suggest that you consider reverting this edit, "published by Wyndham Wise." I think it takes you potentially close to an appearance of conflict of interest, per WP:SELFCITE. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 01:07, 12 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi. I see what you mean, and have eliminated the link. As for the phrasing of Rozema's win at Cannes with Mermaids. I see you or someone noted the same in Canadian Encyclopedia. With your permission, i will rewrite that line and send you the rewrite via this page before I upload it to the wiki page.Wyndham Paul Wise (talk) 14:53, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not quite sure what you mean, but yes, do it here first and I'll be glad to have a look. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 14:55, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I mean I was confused. I thought your note meant i had used the same text that appears on the Canadian Encyclopedia website. I see you just wanted me to get rid of the link I added. Which I did. I'm really annoyed that my Take One covers where removed from my Wiki page. And I can't seem to get a hold of the person removing things. I can see copyright on text, but who has copyright to my covers? That I would like to know.Wyndham Paul Wise (talk) 15:06, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • When were Take One covers removed from your user page? It must have been a while ago? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:12, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Over the weekend I upload five covers to my Wiki page and they were removed overnight. And I got a standard notice of Wiki copyright violation. What I can't figure is who has the copyright to my covers and why can't I display them on my Wiki page?Wyndham Paul Wise (talk) 15:15, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oh yes I see. But again, I suspect it may be because you haven't used the proper licensing when you've uploaded it? I'm more concerned about all the links you've added to your bio article, which is having the effect of turning into something of a WP:LINKFARM. And ideally you should declare your involvement on the talk page, using Template:Connected contributor, too. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:47, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
