Treo 700 official name?[edit]

I did not name the Treo 700 in my edit because I don't think it's the official name yet. Have you confirmed that it is definitely going to be the 700? Maybe a mention that it's been dubbed the 700, but not officially. Just wondering if you've got a source. --J. J. 03:04, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've checked the sources that you've listed on my Talk page, but the official press release never mentions the name 700, neither does last week's Microsoft interview (they call it the "Treo Smartphone"). I know that a lot of news articles and buzz call it the 700 or 700w, but I didn't want people to get the wrong idea and create a Treo 700 Wikipedia entry, although it may be useful as a redirect in the future. Please reconsider changing it back to my original terminology with the possible mention of the "700" as an alias.
