Wikipedia as self-promotion[edit]

Brian, I've been removing your links that appear to be for self promotion (Ebenezer Enterprises). It's against Wikipedia policy: see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. I learned this lesson first hand as self-promotion was my initial purpose here before I learned otherwise. I was told to place my self-promotion in the talk section and let another Wikipedian make the placement. It might help, however, to become an active editor and add unbiased information that coincides with your outside specialty, and then add your specialty to your user page. See my book link at User:Timhowardriley. Timhowardriley (talk) 18:59, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Serialization do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Elsendero (talk) 20:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Serialization and Automatic programming (WP:AN/3RR / WT:WPSPAM)[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Serialization. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution.
