File permission problem with File:Picture of downtown Saltville in 1967.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Picture of downtown Saltville in 1967.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 12:48, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Whpq; I *do* have permission from the photographer. I have forwarded an email to [email protected] with documentation of permission from the photographer. I don't have all the time in the world, so it took me longer than the seven days given do get it done, and the original picture was deleted in the mean time, but I have re-uploaded it. When I uploaded it the first time, I selected the option "I haven't got the evidence right now, but I will provide some if requested to do so." because I assumed I would only be asked to send evidence if there were some sort of dispute, otherwise what is the point of even having that as an upload option if it gets automatically questioned immediately without any catalyst? Vontheri (talk) 18:53, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know why that would be an upload option. You may want to raise that as an issue at the village pump. -- Whpq (talk) 19:07, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]
Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN.

  1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "cite" click on it
  2. Then click on "templates",
  3. Choose the most appropriate template and fill in the details beside a magnifying glass followed by clicking said button,
  4. If the article is available in Pubmed Central, you have to add the pmc parameter manually -- click on "show additional fields" in the template and you will see the "pmc" field. Please add just the number and don't include "PMC".

We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:20, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Excuse for a second. You mentioned there has been consensus for the inclusion on lists related to the PRC. May I see the page that has been discussed? I would like to know. --Beta Lohman (talk) 05:53, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Beta Lohman: I have a rather clear memory of a discussion on a talk page about this issue, but I’m having trouble finding it. I’m wondering if perhaps it was deleted, but that seems unlikely. I remember someone suggesting renaming the relevant articles to use the term “Greater China” (as it already is with this article) instead of “Chinese” or such terms, but that suggestion was never followed up on. The general consensus, as I remember it, was to include Taiwan on these lists and to make it clear in the text that Taiwan is included for comparison purposes. I also remember that, as a result of the discussion, there was change in the wording to make it clearer that Taiwan was included for comparison purposes only. I wondered if perhaps the discussion was on an editor’s talk page rather than on the talk page for an article, but I am as sure as can be that I remember it being on an article’s talk page, I just can’t seem to find which article. I understand it could sound as though I am making this up, but I really do remember this discussion, and I’m rather confused as to why I cannot find it now. The rationale being that since there is territorial dispute between the PRC and the ROC that it is in the spirit of neutrality to include Taiwan with disclaimers, as well as due to the fact that someone wanting to know data about Chinese provinces would likely also be interested to know the same data about Taiwan, as well as about Hong Kong and Macau for comparison purposes. If there are clear disclaimers, I don’t see why anyone would be confused and think that Taiwan is actually part of the PRC.
”Taiwan” has been deleted from these lists multiple times in the past, and has always, within a day or two, been re-added by various different people. Since I am unable to find the relevant discussion, it would seem reasonable to start a new one. It would be good to get a clear consensus about this matter since it keeps getting changed back and forth. Vontheri (talk) 23:06, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have gone ahead and started a new section on the relevant articles' talk pages about this issue. It is titled "inclusion of Taiwan", if you'd like to give your input there, so we can get a clear consensus about this. Vontheri (talk) 23:29, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Vontheri. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:34, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, you might find Twinkle helpful, both for reverting multiple edits and for giving templated warnings to vandals. It does lots of other things as well. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:36, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I will give it a try. Vontheri (talk) 19:29, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ginkgo Bioworks, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SPAC. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
