File:Scarlettanager99.jpg | Hello, Viridae, and thank you for the support on my recent RfA. The final tally was 72/1/0, and I have now been entrusted with the mop. I'll be tentative with the new buttons for a while, and certainly welcome any and all feedback on how I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks!
Thank you very much for voting on my recent Request for Adminship. FA nomination for Enzyme
Hi there. I nominated Enzyme for Featured article a while ago. As you are a Wikipedian who contributes to scientific articles, I would appreciate any feedback you may have this nomination, or suggestions for improving the article. Thanks! TimVickers 17:37, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Long-Overdue RfA Thanks from Alphachimp
Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which was successful with a an overwhelmingly flattering and deeply humbling total of 138/2/2 (putting me #10 on the RfA WP:100). I guess infinite monkey theorem has been officially proven. Chimps really can get somewhere on Wikipedia.
With new buttons come great responsibility, and I'll try my best to live up to your expectations. If you need assistance with something, don't hesitate to swing by my talk page or email me (trust me, I do respond :)). The same goes for any complaints or comments in regard to my administrative actions. Remember, I'm here for you. Lordi Page Discussion
Hi there,
You deleted a fan site from the Lordi page. The reason that fansite was added was due to the following statement in the page edits that was added regarding a French fan site.
Just to clarify a little, you may like to read Wikipedia is not repository of links. The External links guide states that "on articles about topics with many fansites, including a link to one major fansite is appropriate." However, your site is in French and the Manual of Style states that because this is the English Wikipedia, English links are preferred. I personally do not think your link should be included, partly because it is not in English and partly because it does not look like it has encyclopedic merit. Perhaps you could try the French Wikipedia? Cheers. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 15:47, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
I believe that the site posted was perfectly in line with that rule.
(I really hope this is the proper way to contact you. Please let me know if it's not.)
Thanks! Herrinz 02:51, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

i've asked you this question a dozen times...DO YOU HAVE MSN? when i ask you before you never answer. --Chikinpotato11 03:26, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
Checkuser clerk?
Are you still interested in helping out at WP:RFCU? If so, go ahead and add your name to the active list. We've had several clerks take breaks, and I'd like a break, too. Although that leaves 5 active clerks, there are still sometimes lags in archiving cases, so an extra hand to spread things out should be a good thing. Everything you should need to know is at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Clerks/Guide, and the clerk's noticeboard Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Clerks/Requests (although some past discussions about policies are split between the noticeboard, its talk page, and various archives). The main tasks are, helping people with requests (formatting, the letter codes, adding links to relevant previous cases), and archiving answered requests. Ocassionally someone will create a new page rather than adding on to an old request; those should be merged and redirected to the main case page. If you have any questions you can ask me or any other active clerk.
If you are no longer interested, delist your name so I can move down and ask the next person in line. Thanks. Thatcher131 01:39, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

you messaged me saying that i removed something from an article .. well i'm sure that i didn't, and since the rest of my family doesn't use the computer much, i doubt they did either.

Kafziel RfA
At the risk of being considered dense, I'll venture the following anyway ('cuz I'm crazy, baby!):
- You said: I feel that straight to the point does not necessarily need to be oppostite from dealing reasonably, however I much prefer a softly softly apprach rather straight to the point because I feel that being blunt with some users, paticuarly those involved in edit wars or vandalism can only inflame the matter further.
- Seriously: There are more or less legitimate reasons for opposing RfA's. Deletion policy, blocking policy, protection policy, time on the project, or projectspace experience are all very legitimate. But do you seriously mean to oppose because a user's style is not to your liking? - crz crztalk 12:26, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- In most cases I wouldn't. In this case I get the impression that the user is more likely to inflame a situation than resolve it. and I feel that administrator tools could possibly make that worse. I do realise there are varying degrees of directness among the admins and respect that (yourself being one of the more direct ones) however I feel that in this case there is a possibility that if this user were given the responsibility they wouldnt deal with tense situations appropriately and they would get worse. I am however prepared to assume good faith and if someone were to provide a strong argument against this that could satisfy my misgivings, I would be happy to change my vote to a weak support. ViridaeTalk 12:33, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ignore that - I have changed to weak support anyway. I feel I may have judged them too harshly. The misgivings still stand, but I no longer feel they are strong enough for an oppose. ViridaeTalk 12:42, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

I UNDERSTAND NOW
do you not consider abc tv, a nationwide LIVE PERFORMANCE to be something of noteriety
here is the video btw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pArjOvvhFXs SalTheButcher
not to mention a search for "Brent Simon" on yahoo returns 73,400 results to 751 for "Brooke Brodack"
rest assured there are notable mentions burried within the results, they just dont happen to be the first to come up SalTheButcher
as far as the notiriety of the show he was on is concerned it is aired in lterally nationwide in this country, its aired by ABC and carried by all of its affiliates, the show is essentially ABC's attempt to begin competing with NBC (home of jay leno and connan obrien) and CBS (home of david letterman) in the late night market, so just about anyone in the US who wanted to see it would have been abl;e to WITHOUT the use of a cable or satelite provider, i wasnt trying to accuse anyone of incompetence either, it just seems like someone has something against brent SalTheButcher
i was pretty sure about this but i wanted to clarify before presenting it to you(i have clarified with someone) te jimmy kimmel show contacted brent and payed for his travel, he did not contact them in any way, im not sure that will change your view on the deletion issue, but i think its something you should know based on your reaction to hearing kimmel say that people can volunteer urself at the end of the clip SalTheButcher

RfA
Hi there; I am commenting here because I am quite sure that commenting anywhere else would be regarded as wholly outside guidelines, and I guess even here it may be seen as marginal; but another editor has suggested that I should not continually respond on the RfA page to "oppose" comments. To answer your question quite simply, I was editing elsewhere; mainly WP:SPEEDY but now and then AfD. That's what I do, and that's what I want to do. And that's it.--Anthony.bradbury 01:26, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- I am not looking for policy edits, although they are nice. I am looking for solid involvement in a wide range of admin rleated tasks, something that a lot of edits in the wikipedia namespace is indictive of. ViridaeTalk 02:12, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Countercurrent Exchange
You said:
Hi, you merged this article to Countercurrent exchange, but the correct name is Counter-current exchange with the hyphenated word, because it is two words not one. I will attempt a page move (but do not expect it to succeed because of the previous history) or will list it at WP:RM in the near future. If you have any objections, can you voice them on my talk page. ViridaeTalk 09:01, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Though your post raised doubt, I checked to see if your claim about the hyphenation of countercurrent exchange is indeed true. I had no reason to really doubt it was false, so I looked into it. First, "countercurrent exchange" gets many more hits than "counter-current exchange" on a Google search and a Google Scholar search. Also, I checked four Biology textbooks by different authors, and none of them use the hyphen. Finally, the dictionary lists countercurrent as an acceptable spelling as a single word. I'm not sure what source you use to claim that the hyphen included is the correct spelling, but it seems countercurrent is more widely spelled without the hyphen. Therefore, I'm not entirely convinced a page move is necessary. That's just my two cents. MiltonT 18:22, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- I did the same sort of research, but came up with the conclusion it was necessary because it is essentially two words, which therefore requires a hyphen. I will leave it for now, but may attempt to get peoples opinions on the talk page. Thanks for your response. ViridaeTalk 21:57, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Re: IP Vandal
I saw you removed an IP vandal I reported to WP:AIV, citing "209.173.24.7 removed, blocked by CSCWEM, NOT empty)". Forgive my ignorance but what does this mean? Your template
You are using a template User:Will Pittenger/Handy Templates/Wikify Date with the edit summary "wikify this" but it is is coming up as a speedy dletion template. Can you please stop using it, if you wish to speedily delete something, use the templates found at WP:CSD. If you wish to wikify something, use {{wikify}}. Hi. Per this revert, doesn't {{Sofixit}} seem like a good candidate for permanent protection? It's used in over 500 places at least. I don't know what the standard is on this front though. —Wknight94 (talk) 19:18, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- I dunno. It is highly visible to potential new editors, howeverit is only used on talk pages so MOST people wont see it. What do you think? ViridaeTalk 21:16, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- I guess I'll go with no. Like you said, it's only on talk pages and it looks like it's used in less than 2,500 places. Plus, I think that includes all of the places it's used, not just where it's transcluded - and protecting it would only be for cases of transclusion. So never mind. As you were... :) —Wknight94 (talk) 21:42, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Edit Block
You know this edit block really hurts (Ow!) Not having the ability to do edits on Wikipedia is really upseting, Oh wait it looks like I'm doing edits right now so your feeble attempts to keep me on a short leash failed miserably, Why don't you and the other amateurs here just give up, You can't beat me. I've been working with computers since you were still sucking on your mama titties, I am the master of the computerverse.User:Misterrick
Template
I could make the template but you would have to organise the bot operators, im not exactly sure how they would operate but overall this issue has to be addressed, i've been accused of having an inflam name too. frummer 08:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- check my page, keeping the convo in one place. frummer
Thanks! :)
Thanks for the barnstar - I'd forgotten all about that one! Orderinchaos78 11:16, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Thank you
The issue with User:TJ Elliot Scott, thank you for blocking him. He has been causing trouble since he vandalized some pages I saw on the "Recent changes" area and sent a warning tag, and later, he starts vandalizing all sorts of pages! Thank you for blocking him! But he/she is gonna return, so I appriciate you for settling the problem for right now. I didn't knew much what to do, since I'm kind of new here (some tings I have yet to nderstand like blocking vandalizing users). --esanchez, Camp Lazlo fan! 07:38, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Hello Viridae, would you kindly block the latest User:Maior/User:Mactabbed sock → Made of people (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)? You might want to reprotect the involved articles as well. Thanks. (→Netscott) 02:07, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Hello,
An Arbitration case in which you commented has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Husnock. I wanted to let you know that I have restored a page you speedy deleted, because I believe the deletion to have been incorrect. The db-school template was a short-lived one to begin with, and its page instructed users never to use it for secondary schools such as Olathe North. I don't really intend to make this a big deal or anything, but whenever I overturn another admin I like to let him/her know why. Let me know if I've done something wrong. Quackery
Yep I know. I was just ignoring it. But I appreciate the backup. :) --Woohookitty(meow) 10:07, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Question copied for continuityMay I ask why this is deemed inflamatory? Speedy removed untill I understand. (please reply on MY talk page) ViridaeTalk 08:16, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- Political and religious advocacy userboxes are the main purpose of T1. See [5] for all of the times that userbox has been deleted. You can host the userbox in your user space. For example, if you create User:Viridae/User ACLU, then you can include it into your user page using {{User:Viridae/User ACLU}}. You don't actually need to store anything in template space and under WP:GUS, it is suggested that you do not. BigDT 12:59, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- When I wrote this reply, I assumed (without looking) that you were the user who created the userbox ... I didn't realize you were an admin running through CAT:CSD. I'm guessing you weren't around for the May userbox wars. See Wikipedia:Deletion review/Userbox debates/Archived, WP:MACK, and a number of places where userboxes were debated non-stop. It's a pointless and distracting argument, but basically, anything that advocates a view and goes beyond a statement of fact (This user is a proud supporter of the GOP vs This user is a Republican) was always strongly held to be T1. There were huge arguments over things that merely state a fact (see the five kazillion out of process deletions and DRVUs of template:User Christian). But this one isn't really even debatable. 2006 Melbourne teenage DVD controversy
Hey Viridae, I saw your comment on ANI about the DVD article and I had a look at the history. That same information was also added on 3 December by 60.242.38.186 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log). Jitse Niesen reverted it and deleted and restored but for some reason he also restored the vandal edits, so the personal information was still there in the history. I deleted it again and restored everything prior to 28 November because everything after that was vandalism. If you email oversight, can you please include the edits on 3 December. Thanks, Sarah 12:32, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
Actually...I think I've figured out what happened. Jitse deleted it and then when you did your delete and restore, you accidentally restored the edits that Jitse had deleted. I'm going to email the oversight list now and get those edits oversighted because I can see this quite easily happening again. Sarah 13:58, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
Loituma Girl
If you check the reference, they brought him on and interviewed him on The World (radio program). If the BBC can't find a better person to interview about flash cartoons, we're certainly not finding any.
It would be nice if they actually mentioned that in the intro to his quote, of course. --tjstrf talk 20:40, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- WP:SOFIXIT. (Or I can.) --tjstrf talk 21:16, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I clarified that the quote is from The World radio. That should make it easier to see why it matters, since people can now click on that link and see "important BBC program" rather than "some not-famous guy with an article written by a 12yo with a D grade in English." --tjstrf talk 21:32, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
DalekBot
Well. The policy does say "or 48 hours" if the user is notified and it's a violation of fair use. So I reverted myself on a few things. But he's still in violation of the username policy. So. Go ahead. :) --WoohookittyWoohoo! 10:12, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Warning for violation of 3R's rule
I am protecting this page List of characters in Ed, Edd n Eddy from vandalism. If you look at the offender's talk page, you will see that I have followed all the rules. The 3R's rule does not apply to protection from repeated vandalism. Last time, I posted a [citation needed] and put the burden of proof upon the vandal. Please look at the circumstances before issuing warnings. Thank you. -- 70.140.219.56 05:11, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- The vandal has since removed the [citation needed] tag from the article. Thank you for getting the vandal blocked. -- 70.140.219.56 05:13, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
70.140.219.56 is experimenting with Linux
Just to let you know, the user is experimenting with Linux according to Talk:Ed, Edd n Eddy#DVD covers?, so his/her IP address might change. Squirepants101 05:42, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, my IP does change. So what? I established the user page, followed the guidelines. I was chastised for not trying to discuss. Look at his user page. I tried to discuss the matter several times. The IP vandal did not want to discuss. I established a [citation needed] in the article. The IP vandal erased it. Note that I find myself banned and why? The IP vandal did not change the name "Double-D" in the main page Ed, Edd n Eddy so it seemed to be a drive by vandal attack. He also failed to provide any citation that the name "Double Dee" is correct opposite the established one, "Double-D."
By posting a [citation needed] in the article, the IP vandal should have been required to provide such. He was allowed to erase it, but by my trying to protect this article, I myself got blocked. Explain to me the justice here. Explain to me where I went wrong, afer receiving an explanation by an admin that the "3R rule does not apply to reverting obvious vandalism". I'll want that explanation from you explicitly, [User:Viridae] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.130.236.33 (talk • contribs)
- I'm reading your talk page of the IP address that got blocked for this, and the person supplied at least two pieces of evidence about the Double D/Dee thing [6], yet you still called him/her a vandal. I agree s/he should of supplied the evidence way earlier, but what ever happened to assuming good faith? Or is every edit on the page you dont agree with automatically vandalism? You were both breaking the rule, so you both got temporarly blocked. Although I'm sure your IP will just switch to avoid the block given (which is how you posted that comment). You really need to understand that not everyone is out there to ruin the precious article. DietLimeCola 07:38, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for that DietLimeCola. Basically what I was going to say, with the addition that it is quite obviously a content dispute and therefore subject to 3rr. ViridaeTalk 09:17, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Just to let you know, It's easy to tell what his new IP address is. I can tell you if he avoids the ban again. DietLimeCola 17:39, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Alpaca photos
Hi! My name is Becca. I am just wondering if I can use your alpaca photo for a comercial project I am working on. I am creating a display screen for a woman who sells microchip identification for livestock, particularly specialty breeds like alpacas. The photo would only be printed once, but would be seen at various event and tradeshows. I would be happy to identify this photo with your name if that is something that would make a difference to you. Thank-you for your time! I look forward to hearing from you either way and thank-you for sharing your work.

Block of User:Wikiuser2006
Cheers for blocking the above user. He persistantly removed the speedy deletion tag on SantoCarlo and then the vandilism to my userpage was the last straw. It was much appreciated RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 22:22, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the block...
Of 76.178.91.245. --Kynn 23:13, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think it is fair to characterize this as a "content dispute". There can't be a dispute if only one side is doing any talking. The anon is simply unilaterally changing the article to the way he wants it, adding many pictures that are unnecessary, despite me repeatedly trying to tell him that such changes should be discussed on the talk page first. There's no point in taking any other measures since this user is simply not responding to my attempts to discuss the issue with him; he should be blocked. Sock Puppet
I note you blocked RandofThieves after a rather trollish post to the WP:Help desk. If you pull up the history for the Help Desk, there's been a series of identical posts by users, such as ThouDothProtestTooStrongly (who has not yet been blocked) and 207.168.161.13, 67.173.127.205, 24.148.91.147, 75.3.9.12, & 66.73.80.206 (these only have temp blocks). At least one of the IPs has been labelled a potential sock puppet of Cplot. I'm not sure where to point out this broad set of IPs from seemingly the same person, so I thought I would come here to see if you have any advice. -- Kesh 02:50, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Is 64.163.110.11 blocked IP address 70.140.219.56?
I think 64.163.110.11 (talk · contribs) is a sockpuppet of that blocked user you blocked yesterday, since it belongs to Pacbell.net (the same reverse DNS as that IP who complained about getting blocked for the three-revert rule on List of characters in Ed, Edd n Eddy). The reverse DNS is located in Oakland, California, the same location as the two other IP addresses you blocked. The final reason I think this is the same user is that he edited the List of characters in Ed, Edd n Eddy article, removing multiple statements. Squirepants101 19:13, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- It is, the IP address takes place in the same city as the previous ones, which is easier Chico CA, or San Fransisco CA. DietLimeCola 20:08, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- I found another one called 172.193.14.122 (talk · contribs). He questioned my "motives" for reverting his edits. UPDATE: I checked out the IP's information and it turns out that it belongs to AOL.Squirepants101 01:05, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- [9] another possibility, hes doing the same stuff, but this ones says hes in New Jersey. Do you think he might be using proxies this time? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DietLimeCola (talk • contribs) 02:47, 8 January 2007 (UTC).
Thanks for blocking this IP address, as he is my little brother. Please note that he is the same user as Thechroniclesofratman and 76.178.89.6. I'm unfamiliar with the sockpuppetry policies (including whether you can actually use what I'm telling you to block the other two), so I'll leave it up to you. --Gpohara 21:15, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
I would actually request that the account be blocked indefinitely for solely disruptive edits :P—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 10:40, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- I considered that, but I am giving them 24 hours to think about their actions. It would not be the first time that someone who started out as a vandal came good. If they continue and get reported again I have no doubt they will get an indef block. ViridaeTalk 10:41, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Looks like a repeat act, though. Contribs a few days ago are nearly the same.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 10:43, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, saw them. And normally I would just block hiom for 24 hours first then indef if the actions were repeated afetr the block. However I have just realised what the name means so they get a username block. ViridaeTalk 10:47, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
