I have reverted your Briana Evigan edit because IMDb is not a reliable source for content of Wikipedia articles. Please see WP:IMDB. You might also want to read WP:USERGENERATED to see names of other sources that are similarly not reliable because they contain user-generated content. Ummm yes IMDB it s a reliable source, cause for one thing!!! It has all the things you need and they are the first ones to upload if a movie and a tv show is coming!!!! I know when bew tv shows and movies are upcoming and if you dont believe me take a look at her profile on IMDB then!!! Its run by the actors and the producers and directors themselves too!!! Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Madison Davenport, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 11:15, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Its on her spotify page, https://open.spotify.com/track/52G1dulW4OKIorm7uifbZe?si=BIM48nZbSXa-vsQHhfYxDg&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A5Qv77MVxdXB0ezy08pHyCN Viking Fox Queen (talk) 11:19, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I included a citation and that ep was made this year. Viking Fox Queen (talk) 11:21, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Madison Davenport. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Materialscientist (talk) 11:28, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Provided some information and links, hopefully they help you understand that she sings and writes music now. Viking Fox Queen (talk) 11:29, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the reliable sourcing policy as Materialscientist has advised. No, user-generated sources like IMDb are not reliable sources for Wikipedia. Citing an artist's social media is acceptable in narrow circumstances, but only for basic facts that have come directly from the artist.. Spotify is usable in narrow circumstances (for technical information about a release), but since it is meant to promote artists' work, it is not usable outside those boundaries. Finding a song someone wrote on Spotify as evidence that they're a songwriter by trade (as opposed to having written a few songs) isn't a proper citation. We need for the press to describe them as a songwriter, not themselves, or via your interpretation. Your interpretation that an artists is a "songwriter" because they wriote a song is a considered a synthesis, you need independent sourcing for things like that.

In addition, citing information on your talkpage or in edit summaries is useless. Readers can't find it by reading the article. All information must be referenced in the article, not in inaccessible places like this talkpage or in an edits summary that is buried somewhere in the article history, and invisible to a casual reader. The whole point of a Wikipedia article is to guide readers to the sources that were used. so they can find out where assertions came from.

And lastly, don't abuse the noticeboards to complain about an editor who properly and politely advises you to get better sourcing and to cite it. Acroterion (talk) 13:43, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
