Re: question about dealing with a vandal (bad-faith AfD nominator)[edit]

I'm keeping an eye on the article. If he does it again then I will probably end up closing the AfD pretty quickly and send him to deletion review, when any further discussion should take place. — FireFox 13:14, 29 June '06

No, we can't send an actual user to deletion review, I didn't mean it like that. I meant if he starts another AfD I will tell him if he doesn't agree with the decision made to keep the article, he should take the discussion to deletion review instead of creating yet another AfD. — FireFox 13:21, 29 June '06

Anglo-American academics (when will we ever learn?)[edit]

I personally find that Anglo-American academics are accustomed to thinking of academic disciplines as eternally static categories. Was there such solid distinctions in the year 1800 in Germany? — goethean ॐ 17:20, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I don't mind a reversion at all, and think your suggestion to add a note is fine; feel free to do that. Is it necessary to also insult me and a class of people in the process? Universitytruth

I beg your pardon. The insult was not deliberate -- apart from your username, I know nothing about you. It's merely an observation. — goethean 18:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

German philosophers[edit]

I support the change, could you provide me a link to it? Lapaz 01:57, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

German language philosophers[edit]

Oops. My oversight. Baumgarten's work do appear in the German language, but you are correct that he wrote in Latin. Thanks. Amerindianarts 19:17, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you are new to Wiki so I will limit my comment to informing you that it is considered presumptive and inappropriate to edit a user's comments on their own talk page, or any talk page for that matter. No harm done, but for future reference it is a Wiki no-no. Otherwise, Willkommen!Amerindianarts 19:47, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for requesting my presence at the List of German-language philosophers and I am deeply humbled that you would ask of me to do such a thing. But currently I cannot seeing as I do not have much background in the article nor the discussion. Thank you though! Very much! Aaрон Кинни (t) 23:37, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I'm pleased that you took the initiative to create Category:German-language philosophers, but I would not support deleting or merging Category:German philosophers, as it matches all the Wikipedia categories in other languages. GilliamJF 02:23, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rafik Schami[edit]

Glad to hear you're a fan. I met RS when he gave a reading here in Regensburg last year - Brilliant! Do look over the article, which is new in Wikipedia, though it is almost all based on text published elsewhere by an authority on migrant writing. But it is badly out of date, and needs someone like you to fill in all that Schami has done in the last six years. Great to hear from you, --Doric Loon 16:39, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

opinion[edit]

As an editor of Lists of topics, I'd like your opinion at Topics redesign. Thanks. --gatoatigrado 15:43, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of pubs[edit]

As someone who has contributed to the talk page discussion on List of publications in philosophy and/or that article's previous deletion debate, I thought you might be interested in participating in its new nomination for deletion which can be found here. Thanks. - KSchutte 17:21, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
