Thanks for your note. With regards to History of IBM, I am sorry if the reversion caused you any stress, however I felt that the changes were necessary, as your version included no reliable sources to support your claims. If you have sources to support your edits, by all means simply revert my changes and include the references in the text you added. Regarding original research:

I planned to include references to IBM's annual reports which clearly demonstrate the rental to lease conversion in financial statements published by the company

That is the very definition of original research... you're taking a primary source (such as the annual reports from IBM) and using them to support your supposition (or perhaps another's supposition) that it was the rental/lease conversion that drove them towards near-collapse. Is that correct? I don't know... but I do know that you'll need to find a reliable secondary source to make that statement. Regarding the rest, it is quite feasible and likely that there are other factual errors and unattributed claims. Let's work together to verify the claims made and/or remove the claims that are unsupported by references, as well as ensuring that any new material is compliant with our core policies and guidelines. Sorry if the reversion ruffled a few feathers, but I hope this explains things. /Blaxthos ( t / c ) 12:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I found this discussion after I restored Twostardave's additions to the article. As I noted in my edit summary, I did so to allow opportunity for people to read, edit, and insert references. I also added some fact tags to encourage the latter. Wanderer57 (talk) 13:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
