Russell Wilson Article

Because I have spoke with you in the past, and you are a more experienced editor than I, can you please take a look at the recent edit string on Russell Wilson between me and another editor. First the editor undid my revision and then came to my talk page and threatened reporting me for vandalism when I only undid him once which is in violation of assuming good faith. I just want to make sure I am not in the wrong. I always value a third party's opinion. Thanks! Chambr (talk) 03:44, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree that the other editor's format was poor, and their message borders on WP:OWN, in my opinion. They're relatively inexperienced (if not exactly new, as the account was registered in 2006) so I don't think its a big deal yet. I've incorporated their source into the article properly so hopefully that won't set them off. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 04:53, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Or it will. Because it did. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 04:53, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw. I like your wording, though. Chambr (talk) 04:57, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

You edit makes no sense. I have undone and provided a better edit. (Lorrainx (talk) 05:06, 22 June 2015 (UTC))

Yes, it did make sense, and no, you didn't undo it (you made a minor wording change after the fact). Your edit referred to the subject by his given name (Russell) which is improper, and you put your bare link source between two brackets, which is not how you source an edit. I changed the content to conform to Wiki's standards and incorporated your source (properly). In the future, please assume good faith. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 05:13, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

Cut it with the changes

Stop removing all of the images, re-adding rankings, and making other unnecessary changes that only decrease the lists's quality. The changes you made were against consensus and discussion, please don't revert again. Thank you. Sportsguy17 (TC) 19:13, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

You don't WP:OWN the page - Wikipedia is a collaborative effort, and your hostile attitude is completely inappropriate. The list as it exists right now (your revert version) is of poor quality in my opinion (one column stretching the page vertically without making use of the width, no ranks, not correct or updated, etc.), and your revert, along with your comments, are making it very difficult for me to assume you are acting in good faith. I am opening a new discussion on the page and will encourage the participation of WP:BASEBALL to come to a new consensus. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 19:57, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Photo changes.

Hey I was wondering if you could possibly update some nfl players pictures. Such as, tony romo. matthew stafford. tom brady. ndamukong suh. julian edelman. reggie bush. antonio gates. Phillip rivers. just a few I don't know how to do it without it being copy write. Thanks bud. Reggie21bush (talk) 04:39, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

If you're looking for new photos, go to flickr and search for photos with creative commons licences (instructions for uploading them to Wikimedia Commons can be found here). However, the photos in place already are pretty good. I really don't see the need to replace them. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 17:14, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Dalton Pompey

In the personal life colum of Dalton Pompey you should add his sister her name is Kayla Hawthorne. I found out she lives in London Ontario after Dalton posted a picture of her on instagram. Bimlarock (talk) 03:52, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

The only notable part of that is that he has a sister named Kayla. Her last name and where she lives is irrelevant. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 20:22, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Pages in need of expansion

What's up Truth? Just wondering if you know of any baseball list articles that are in need of expansion or just a page redo. If so, feel free to send them my way. Much appreciated.Taffe316 (talk) 07:44, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Not really in need of a redo, but a couple that could use some help are List of Major League Baseball players with 4,000 total bases and List of Major League Baseball players with a .900 on-base plus slugging. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 20:00, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Troy Tulowitzki

I apologize for messing up the Troy Tulowitzki article. All I was trying to do was upload an updated photo of him in a Toronto Blue Jays uniform but for some reason it wasn't working. Anyways, sorry again for the innconvinience I may have caused. Parkwaydrive2196 (talk) 19:05, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

If you're looking to upload an image, use Wikimedia Commons, but the image needs to be either your own work or licensed under Creative Commons. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 20:00, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

I'd love your input

I have recently brought up an item for discussion at WPNFL and I would love to get your input as I know you have always had some good ideas in the past. Thanks. Also, you pumped for Colts season?? Chambr (talk) 03:26, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Usually by August I have given up hope for my Blue Jays, so I'm eagerly awaiting some Colts football. This year I get to look forward to September for football AND baseball, so I'm just pumped for sports in general. I'll have a look at the discussion. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 17:42, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Encarnacion sets Jays Franchise Month RBI Record. - Dates

Hi Trut-h-urts man Understanding you have 'owned' Encarnacion's page for a while, I am wondering why you changed my addition listing "August 30, 2015" as when Encarnacion broke the record to "the next day." Are exact dates not more encyclopedic than making a section read like a news article? What if someone changes the line above where the date was listed? SamDumcum (talk) 19:50, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

No one owns pages. Being that August 29 is mentioned 1 sentence before the addition, "the next day" is perfectly fine. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 19:59, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

'Owns' was used in single quotations to identify it as an urban expression meaning one who is 'on the ball,' or 'very active in the space.' Many pages continuously state dates for continuity, I was just asking why you didn't choose to leave it that way. SamDumcum (talk) 17:18, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

infobox

I placed the correct number in the correct section there was 0% wrong with my edit I looked at stats on his MLB page before placing it in the Info box as well unless I've placed false information I don't see a need for your attempts to correct an edit I've done, thanks JMichael22 (talk) 03:21, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Maybe you need to look a little closer - You placed the correct number of hits. No one is disputing that. You did not, however, update the batting average (.256 to .257) or OPS (.863 to .862). Here is your edit, and Here is Bautista's stats page. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 03:25, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia should make a coin toss so you may decide who has the privilege of updating JB's stats this evening at approximately 2145 EST once the stats have been officially updated by the MLB after the box score has been published. As there is no such coin, best of luck to you both. SamDumcum (talk) 17:29, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

What? This isn't a race or a competition, and if you got that idea from reading the conversation, maybe you need to read it again. JMichael incorrectly updated the infobox statistics. Regardless, you aren't even involved in this, so I don't see why you felt the need to insert yourself here. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 17:38, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Bryan Bullington

Please stop vandalizing my work. I've spent a lot of time writing that page. He lives in Kobe now because he pitches for ORIX. The other stuff you edited is petty. Please leave my page alone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DMagee33 (talkcontribs) 02:56, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

You do not own the page, nor did I vandalize it. The edits you have made do not conform to Wikipedia style policies. Do not use ordinals after dates (MOS:BADDATEFORMAT) and do not refer to the subject by his first name. Provide a reliable source for living in Kobe. This is not difficult. If you revert again I will report you for edit warring. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 03:00, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

Bautista Picture

I have no intention of getting in an edit war with you over the photo, BUT....with that out of the way, you *were* rather dismissive of a photograph I was very fortunate to get. That's basically a close-up of Bautista's face, whicn you cannot see in the other photo, although I will offer you this, the other photo is quite good. All of Keith Allison's photos are good. I'm going to ask you to reconsider this, and not so much imply ownership of the page with such a rapid dismissal, or even failing to put my photo in the body of the article, as you yourself suggested. Terry Foote (talk) 21:51, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

  • My bad, you did put it in the article. I can live with this. I disagree with you; I was about 5 feet away from Bautista with a reasonably good camera. Furthermore, all of Allison's pictures come from Flickr, right? I'm giving this one to Wikipedia. Terry Foote (talk) 21:53, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
You're reading way too much into my edit summary. I said it wasn't the best, not that it was garbage, and it certainly wasn't my intention to offend you. The photo used before your edit is older, but it comes from a time when Bautista was arguably the best power hitter in the game, and taken while he was in his well-known swing motion. I feel it is the best representation of Bautista we have, including your photo and the others available on Flickr. I don't like for the accusation of ownership - I am a fan of the Blue Jays, and I regularly update and maintain the player/team/season pages. I do not own the pages, nor do I feel I have exhibited the qualities of a "page owner". As you noted, I did put your photo in the body of the article, under the 2015 subsection (here). Because we are still discussing this I am going to revert the page to its original form, per (WP:BRD). I hope you will refrain from reverting until we have come to a consensus. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 23:42, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
The more I think about it, the more I think you're correct here. I'll undo myself, minus the image size (it shouldn't stretch the infobox. 250 should be fine). Trut-h-urts man (TC) 00:18, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Trut-h-urts man, and I'm not just saying this because it's my photo, but because too it's a good thing to have a free image of JB wearing the current Blue Jays uniform. Plus, if you look at American League OPS stats, rather than the standard batting average, the last I checked, Bautista is back to his prime of hitting for power AND average. I think 2015 will be a great year both for Bautista and the Jays. I don't like in Canada as you do (I presume) but the Jays spring train about a 10 mile bicycle ride from my house, so I consider myself a fan. Here's to World Series 2015! Thanks again, Terry Foote (talk) 20:40, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Yep, check out this link - Bill James and all the stats Gods will tell you that the OPS stat is far more indicative of a player's offensive value than batting average, as it takes into account total bases, and number of walks. Bautista walks a lot as he's still a feared hitter, hence his far better OPS than BA. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting/_/league/al/sort/OPS/order/true All best, Terry Foote (talk) 20:48, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

MLB team season Game log

I was just wondering the best way to insert the game log for a MLB team, i saw you did it for the Blue Jays next season and i wanted to take care of the orioles. an instruction list of link to one would be great. thanx. Jdavi333 (talk) 01:26, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

Wish I could say I had instructions or a blank template, but I just copied an old semi-blank one and inserted the new schedule info by hand. Here is the page revision from this season with a mostly blank table that could easily be transplanted, but opponents and game dates will have to be changed manually. Thanks for your work on this. I removed Weeknd again, as the ref you cited does not mention the school he was thrown out of or the one he dropped out of by name. It's quite possible one of them was West Hill, but there has been so much manipulation of articles in an attempt to pad the alumni list that I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt to anything. Did you check the rest of the refs you added yourself or did you just pull them from the other articles? I ask because this issue with the West Hill article has been going on for quite some time and the various IPs have learned that if they can first get away with adding unsupported or even false high school claims to the person's article then the addition of the person to the high school page is likely to get by. Meters (talk) 21:47, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

With exception to the Weeknd, which came from his article, the refs I used came from Google searches. In a week or so I (or someone who beats me to it) will remove the ones without citations, just to avoid the anon getting the idea that he or she can add whomever they want along with a CN tag. Cespedes

Hey, ESPN is a reliable sports source about Yoenis Cespedes agreeing to a deal with the Mets. I even put a link down below but you removed it. I'm a big Mets fan and the Cespedes deal is final. Thank you. --Ingenito919 (talk) 20:08, 24 January 2016 (UTC)Peter

The deal is not final until confirmed by the team, which is likely pending completion of a physical. Agreeing to a deal is not the same as signing a deal. We wait until it is made official. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 20:09, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
Here is the most recent article posted on Mets.com, which states that "the two sides reached an agreement Friday night, which has not been confirmed by the club". Deals fall through all the time, like Grant Balfour's agreement with Baltimore in 2013. As a Mets fan, surely you remember the Wilmer Flores trade debacle? Trut-h-urts man (TC) 20:20, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Spring Training, the Toronto Blue Jays, and Jose Bautista

So question for you Trut-h-urts man - the Blue Jays spring train about a fifteen minute drive from where I live, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them again. I always bring a camera to ST games, whether it's the Jays, the Phillies or any other team. Like yourself, I'm a great admirer of Jose Bautista. I would love it if one of my photos made it in the info. box for the Jose Bautista page, but it's hard to compete with Keith Allison, with him being a professional and all with a $5,000 camera and who knows how much in lenses. You are the steward of the Bautista page - can you tell me what you're looking for in an info. box photo? All best, Terry Foote (talk) 16:36, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

Terry, (can I call you Terry? I'm going to call you Terry) I want to make it absolutely and unequivocally clear that I am not the "steward" of Bautista's page. I do not own it, nor do I think I own it or that I am the steward of it. I, like you, am a fan of the Blue Jays. Edits to Blue Jays pages don't have to pass my judgment or inspection. I do my best everyday to act in good faith. With that said, yes, I moved your photo into the body of the article to put another image in the infobox. Keith Allison photos are abundant on Wikipedia, because he uploads them to Flickr and licences them under Creative Commons. It is my opinion that the current photo is a better depiction of Bautista due to its extremely high quality. I don't mean to say that you are a bad photographer, only that Allison took a better picture, in my opinion. Just want to add that I am super jealous that you live 15 minutes away from spring training. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 19:56, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
Of course you can call me Terry! Sounds a whole lot better than Mr. Foote, that's for sure. I didn't mean any implication of bad faith or anything like that - perhaps guardian, or main editor, or some other terminology is what I meant. I've been a longtime admirer of your baseball work on Wikipedia, so I have nothing but the highest respect for your commitment to the spirit of Wikipedia. And yes, you're right about Keith Allison - I've taken a look at what kind of camera he uses, and he has top notch stuff. There is no doubt he takes fantastic photos. I'm going to give it a shot in March to see if I can get any almost as great shots of Joey Bats, Encarnacion, Tulo and the rest of the guys. And yes, a big perk to living in the Tampa Bay area is Spring Training. I'm really happy and excited that the Jays are looking good again. Any team that has Geddy Lee sing the National Anthem is going to be a team that I adopt. I hope that doesn't make me a jumping on the bandwagon kind of fan. All best, Terry Foote (talk) 20:43, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

Mexican Pacific League

For the players on those rosters do we list that as their current team on their article? Kingryan227 (DecreesActs) 23:13, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

I could be wrong, but the Mexican Pacific League is a minor winter/offseason league (like the Arizona Fall League or Venezuelan Winter League), so the players are with a team, but have a "parent club" that they are under contract with, and the player is loaned to the winter league team for seasoning. If that is the case, the parent club should appear in the infobox (kind of like how we would list a prospect player's team as the Toronto Blue Jays, but they're actually playing with the Lansing Lugnuts, for example). I would say that, if someone is playing in the MPL, doesn't have a parent club for some reason, and is notable enough to have a Wikipedia page, then the MPL team should be listed in the team parameter area. If I knew more Spanish I could probably give you a more informed answer. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 01:38, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

Thanks that helps I am going to go through that now and put people who don't have parent clubs down with their MPL team. Kingryan227 (DecreesActs) 21:55, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

YahwehSaves

I'm not sure if you can facilitate, but I might also suggest keeping an eye on YahwehSaves, continuing to use 75.79.31.20 as a sockpuppet. Liam Hendriks

I've just been editing a page you have spent a lot of time on (and I will add, done a good job). I understand there is a way of doing this, however I'm fairly new to Wikipedia. It would have been nice to have been told about references rather than have everything I put on the page deleted. I had to gather the information up several times before I realised what I needed to do. I read "Please do not bite the newcomers" and I'm not sure this was adhered to. You could have made it much easier for me to include references had you sent me a message rather than delete what I had posted.Spot1026 (talk) 10:13, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

This is why you should have read the rules before starting to edit. You made additions to the page that were completely unsourced, and the format is poor (why have you capitalized the subsections? Why the odd spacing? Why not simply add these points into the article with sourcing, rather than creating a cumbersome subsection?). I removed it in line with the rules and told you through my edit summary that I had removed your addition because it was unsourced. I have now integrated the contents of your edit into the article, along with proper citations for your bare links. Please take time to familiarize yourself with the rules here. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 21:34, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
I did send you a message, however you didn't reply. As you can see I'm new to this and I've looked at other sports pages, and awards and highlights are listed at the end, therefore it is a quick reference rather than reading each section, which I believe is better and would like to see on the page. I would rather you had messaged me or assisted me with the edits rather than remove my submissions all together. I don't want to get in an edit war, but you appear to have a interest in having the page the way you like it. I referenced other player pages, and they haven't been removed. I see you have had a vested interest in Liam Hendriks and the page is great, but I just wanted to add what I thought should have been on there (and this has been mentioned to me by many of his friends and family). The last thing I wanted to do was get into an edit war. I just wanted to make sure Hendriks was represented correctly and had the recognition I, and many others believe he is due. There is no reference to the awards he won in Australia. WA Sports star of the Year finalist 2015, 2015 Male player of the year for Baseball Australia, Rookie of the year for the Claxton Shield and IL's Top Star in 2104 AAA all star game.Spot1026 (talk) 00:32, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
You sent me a message? When? Where? Other than the one from today, I don't see one in your contribution history. In addition, I don't see these other edits of yours you claim to have made, referencing other player pages. Messaging you and assisting you is what I have done. I messaged you through my edit summaries, letting you know your edits were unsourced. It isn't my responsibility to source your edit - the onus is on you (WP:PROVEIT). Prose is always preferable to a bulleted list - a "quick reference" list is unnecessary, especially one with bare links, improper capitalization, and odd spacing. Your personal connection to Hendriks' family and friends is unverifiable and therefore irrelevant to this conversation and his Wikipedia page (and in fact could present a conflict of interest). I have added the ROTY for Claxton in 2008, along with citation, as well as the "Top-Star". The Baseball Australia POTY was integrated into the 2015 section on the page. Not every award is notable, so the finalist for WA Sports and the player of the week awards in the minors were removed. Everything else from your edits was integrated into the text of the article with proper citation. I now consider this matter closed. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 01:06, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
I don't want to get into an edit war as I've said, but in whose opinion is a finalist for the WA sports star of the year not noteworthy? It's his hometown and quite a big deal in Australia and Wikipedia is worldwide. I didn't "reference" players pages as such, I looked at a lot of player pages (not always baseball, but Josh Donaldson comes to mind)and they have their awards listed below. I have tried not to be rude to you, but feel I'm not being offered the same courtesySpot1026 (talk) 01:26, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
Just because something is on one page is not a valid argument for it being added to another. Baseball player pages used to have statistical tables included, and then the community came to the consensus that these should be removed as redundant. Hockey and Football player pages often have them, but that doesn't automatically mean that they should be re-added to baseball player pages. The awards section for Donaldson and Hendriks do not compare - aside from the obvious format differences, Hendriks's awards (largely minor league awards) are not nearly as notable as Donaldson's (MLB MVP, Hank Aaron Award, etc.) I was previously unaware of the Western Australian Sports Star of the Year page, so I have added the finalist selection to the page. February 2016

My apologies for accidentally undoing the version by the unlogged IP address stating you "Like scrotums". I accidentally clicked the wrong one. It got reverted before I could undo it.ChristopherH1995 (talk) 21:48, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

No biggie. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 21:49, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Yup, I reverted that, but when I looked at your history it was obvious you made a mistake (rather than that you were a sock). It happens. Meters (talk) 21:56, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. Was the account blocked? I haven't noticed anything on Jose Bautista or on here. ChristopherH1995 (talk) 21:59, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Thank You for removing the vandalism on my UserTalk page

Thank you for undoing the vandalism on my user talk page. My e-mail kept getting lit up by notifications of messages on my Wikipedia talk page. I'm at work on break and can't really go through them all right now, but what was going on? ChristopherH1995 (talk) 20:47, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Unless I'm mistaken, it appears as if it originated from the same IP address. ChristopherH1995 (talk) 20:55, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
IP 204.225.8.2 kept vandalizing our talk pages. We all had a run-in last week, and he ended up blocked for a day for vandalism. Blocked for a month now. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 21:01, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Scarborough high school sock

Thanks for watching for this guy. He got a 3 month block this time so we'll have to watch for a new IP/account this time. I'll SPI him the next time I see him, or maybe even start one now just so we have one ready. I think what's gong on is that there are a couple of local schools up for review for possible closure, and West Hill is losing out. I'm keeping track of this at User:Meters/Scarborough school cluster since it's too messy to dump it all into an SPI. Feel free to add anything I missed. Meters (talk) 05:29, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for cleaning up after this one yet again. 6 month block this time. Meters (talk) 05:10, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

CC License Blue Jays photos on Flickr

[2] First off, apologies for the poor form on putting up a link. This is a link to my Flickr page that contains some of the photos I took at the Blue Jays vs. Mets spring training game I took 3/23/16. All of them have a Creative Commons license. If you wanted, I thought you could pick and choose whichever ones you think would work best. Take care and Go Jays! Terry Foote (talk) 01:05, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Terry, no worries on the link. I really appreciate your photos, and I would like to put some of them to use here, but unfortunately the Creative Commons licence you uploaded the photos with can't be used on Wikipedia (to my understanding). When uploading a Flickr photo through Wikimedia Commons, the only additional CC licences we can use are Attribution ShareAlike 2.0 and Attribution 2.0, on top of Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 4.0/3.0/2.5, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0/3.0/2.5, and Creative Commons CC0 Waiver. The licence you selected, Attribution NonCommercial 2.0, can't be used (I think) because of its' non-commercial restriction. I personally don't think Wikipedia intends to profit off of your photos, but for whatever reason, we can't use them (I think). I say "I think" because I really don't know 100% that we can't use them. Uploading photos is still relatively new to me, I've only uploaded a handful of them since 2014. If there is a way to change the licence used, I'd be very happy to make use of them (especially at Michael Saunders, Chris Colabello, and elsewhere). Go Jays! Trut-h-urts man (TC) 21:26, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
I changed all the licenses to Attribution ShareAlike, so feel free to use whichever ones you like. I just may get around to uploading Saunders and Colabello sometime soon. I know WP already has a good image of Aaron Sanchez, but I got some good ones of him at the game. Speaking of him, he threw consistiently 97-98mph with perfect location - if he pitches this way consistently, the Jays should have a Cy Young potential pitcher in him. All best, Terry Foote (talk) 20:14, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi there. You seem to be a regular reverter of the vandalism at West Hill Collegiate Institute. Could you take a moment to look at the talk page discussion? Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:54, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello, my name is LJ Kurek. I am currently editing the MLB The Show 16 wiki page. I noticed that you also edited it before. Do you think we should add the soundtrack to the game or any other information?

If it's notable and you can include a reliable source, go for it. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 18:57, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

Hey there friend!

So it seems this here link from my original welcome message is STILL directing random people, ones that you reverted, to ME! Hahah! It's okay I find it quite humourous and entertaining often. This time, I just received an email from a yet another guy that you reverted a about a week ago ([4]). It's apparent that they're coming to your talk page, seeing your top 'welcome message' that I sent you originally back in March 2009, and without knowing any better, following the link "Please leave a message on my talk page", which undoubtedly misleads them to my talk page! Haha! This last guy actually ended up sending me an irrelevant email. Anyway, I took out the link to my talk page to avoid this in the future. Thanks man! -- œ 12:12, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Wow, what's that, like the fourth or fifth time that's happened now?. It's kind of odd - I'd say 99% of the time new/anon editors can't be bothered to read anything, but once they get to my talk page they are all over that welcome message! That user also appears to have left a message on their talk page, so I'll answer them there. Thanks for removing the link to your talk page - I completely missed it when I removed the signature links in February. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 14:52, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Commas for managerial records.

I suggest that the templates that are used in managerial records should be fixed to include commas. If you take a look here, it currently doesn't show commas. Another point I want to make is that MOS:DIGITS states that it can only be used when it is consistently applied in each article. Since the template doesn't currently allow for a consistent use of commas, the comma can't be applied right now. However, if you feel that it should be used, maybe the starting point here is to get the template to use commas so it can be consistently applied. 70.26.86.97 (talk) 20:58, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

The most important part of MOS:DIGITS as it relates to commas used for four digit numbers is "provided that this (the use of commas) is consistent within each article". Gibbons' article only has one other four digit number (that isn't a year) and it uses a comma (as 99% of MLB infobox statistics do). The template you refer to isn't a template, its a wikitable, and wikitables are not exclusively for use as an MLB managerial record table, so no such fix or "forced comma" can be implemented. Whether or not a comma is used in Bobby Cox's table is irrelevant to the Gibbons article. Please stop removing the comma. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 21:15, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
That statement on four digits refers to "each article" meaning each managers' article. That means Gibbons article has to be consistent with Bobby Cox, Joe Girardi, etc. 70.26.86.97 (talk) 21:26, 25 September 2016 (UTC)7
It does not mean each article in the sense of each manager article, it means consistent use or omission throughout each individual article across Wikipedia. MOS:DIGITS does not state unequivocally to either use commas or omit them, rather it allows editors to choose to either use them or omit them, as long as what is chosen is used consistently throughout the article. So if Bobby Cox's article does not use a comma in any of the four digit numbers, don't use one in the table and vice-versa. Each article needs consistent use or omission throughout, and not sporadic use (for example, "Bobby Cox managed 4,505 games with a record of 2504–2,001." would be incorrect. Either use the comma consistently throughout or omit it consistently throughout). As the comma was already present in Gibbons' games managed infobox field, a comma should be used in any other four-digit number on the page. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 22:34, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
I think if the templates starts using the comma, then the problem is solved. 70.26.86.97 (talk) 22:45, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
It's not a template, its a wikitable. There is no specific template for managerial records, and there doesn't need to be. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 22:46, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
Within the wikitable, the WinLossPct template is used. 70.26.86.97 (talk) 01:58, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
That's correct, and it's something that I overlooked. The WinLossPct template is used to display all three fields in the table (wins losses and win %) and inserting a comma into that template yields some disastrous results. The template {{Winning percentage}} would be better used for managers with 1,000+ wins or losses because it only displays the winning percentage, and not the wins and losses, so the commas can be used in accordance with MOS:DIGITS on pages that already use commas in four-digit numbers. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 02:48, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
Here is an example of where a comma is used in a template. So, I know it's possible somehow. 70.26.86.97 (talk) 15:14, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

The template used on that page is {{WDLtot}}, and it's written in Lua programming language. The full layout of the template is here. I can't make heads or tails of it. Have a look at Bobby Cox's table. I swapped the WinLossPct template with the Winning percentage template yesterday. The wins and losses totals aren't displayed through the template, so commas can be added without breaking anything. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 16:02, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

Why?

I don't see why you guys are tracking my contribution page and removing my edits the tags that I am adding on the players that played on a foreign team is useful for people who might not know about what those teams are so I link them to the league it is more useful than a lot of things on pages here. Kingryan227 (DecreesActs) 20:21, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

These teams are linked for a reason. If a person is curious to see what league the team is in they can simply click the link, that's why its linked in the first place. There's no reason to take up unnecessary space in the infobox.--Yankees10 20:26, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

There are other things that are less useful in there there is no point in removing them to be honest they do more use than other spaces in the infoboxes. Kingryan227 (DecreesActs) 20:28, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Simply put, these are completely unnecessary (and somewhat arbitrary in my opinion). If they should be used, who don't we add MLB after the MLB teams? Is it just because the other leagues are foreign? Who decided that? This is the English language Wikipedia, not the American/Canadian exclusive Wikipedia. MLB is a foreign league to people who may speak English but not live in America or Canada. The team's league should be included in the lead ("played for the TEAM NAME of the TEAM LEAGUE") and body of the article. Putting them in the infobox is overkill, not to mention cluttering. In addition, you are linking to Korea Baseball Championship and not KBO League, which is the correct league name. If you're so inclined (as the person adding these), you can seek consensus on WP:BASEBALL. My vote will be no. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 20:33, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Well is your plan to remove it from every article that has it? There are tons that I know of that have them in there if that is your plan then that will take awhile. Kingryan227 (DecreesActs) 20:38, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

It takes as long as it takes. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 20:43, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Edit War on Mitch Moreland

He signed with the Red Sox a few hours before the edit war. Please remember, before you engage in an edit war, just google it first. I'm adding reliable sources and fixing it. Adotchar| reply here 22:08, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Please learn to look before you leap. The deal was not official until this afternoon, because a physical had not been completed. This was information in the official Red Sox source, as it is in every official MLB source relating to free agent signings. Until the team confirms the signing the contract is not official. This is and has been Wikipedia policy for at least eight years (the amount of time I have been editing). We do not deal in rumours. There was no edit war. Muboshgu and I reverted edits which violated Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living persons. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 22:50, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Those are not reliable sources. The twitter source makes an unverified claim about another person (Dirks), and the real estate website could be a coincidental same name situation. If no reliable source exists it cannot be added to the page. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 04:07, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
