If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Drawn Some (talk) 02:18, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
In addition, accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing, and your username should reflect this.
Wikipedia is not a promotion website; this kind of activity is considered spam on Wikipedia, and forbidden by policies, and usernames that appear to be promotional also violate our username policy. Editing on Wikipedia is not intended to be used to promote anyone, or anything, and its use for that purpose will result in blocking of the account involved.
If you feel that there has been a mistake, please appeal this block by adding the text{{unblock|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page or contacting the administrator who has blocked you. Your reason should include a clear response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy. Please check that your new username has not already been taken here. Nja247 08:15, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Unblock request
[edit]It might not be an issue to change your username, however please consider using a name that isn't personally identifying (see here). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username. In the alternative, you can "abandon" the contributions under this username and create a new account, which is much faster and easier. Unblock request
[edit]Many thanks your guidance. I tried to create a new account but found my IP address is also blocked due to spamming. As I have never contributed on any other subject, I am confused as to why I have been labelled a spammer? I know my email address with bluewin sometimes has problems, but bluewin is the official Swisscom (main supplier in Switzerland) domain name offered free with an adsl subscription so I have never understood this either.
- Please paste below this line, the complete text of the message you get when you try to edit. Otherwise we cannot identify the IP you're blocked as. Kimchi.sg (talk) 05:56, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have unblocked you so you can make a username change request (go here to ask). Please do so as soon as possible, or you may be blocked again. Kimchi.sg (talk) 06:03, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
