Queries...

- The new owners of Browns Hotel have spelt it without the apostrophe. You have corrected the spelling throughout the article. Can I change it back just make a note that there was a change in spelling? - You have cut that Caitlin had her wake there. Why? This is historically proven and of interest to the history of the hotel - she was a renowned writer in her own right.

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.217.253.47 (talk) 17:11, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Editing and categories

[edit]

Please be careful in editing. In this edit you were adding material but in so doing, the article's links to IMDB, all of its navigation categories, and its link to the equivalent Italian article disappeared. I've reinstated these from the prior article version. AllyD (talk) 10:11, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't remove references from articles either.♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:15, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia NOT a advertisement paper. Why do you persist on removing encyclopedic information and references which all wikipedia articles need and adding an advert. Obviously it is a conflict of interest. We do not care what beers your hotel has to offer or how good it is. I saved your article from deletion because its notable but please STOP adding unencylopedic cruft.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:03, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I was harsh, but we have a major problem with WP:POV on wikipedia. A lot of people unfamiliar with wikipedia are unaware of this. Wikipedia is a neutral website. The information about Neil Morrissey owning it is important, we are neutral so covering both positive and negative is appropriate. If you could find further information say about the architecture and decor of the rooms this would be fine providing you can source it. Hotel articles are one of my areas of interest on wikipedia and the coverage is sadly lacking. You are welcome to help improve coverage as long as you provide references externally and have a browse about to see how they're written. If you read my Hotel Ritz Paris article you'll notice that it reads encyclopedicly rather than, "this stunning room has views of the square". ♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:35, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Its important that you cite sources to avoid WP:OR. Where did you get "Go to Browns & order a pint of Felinfoel and ask where I live. They'll know.' " from?♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:05, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Jon Tregenna

[edit]

Hello, Tregenna,

Thank you for creating Jon Tregenna.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Page is an autobio. Notability is iffy. Reference section not formatted properly, I will correct that. Multiple unsourced claims. Article needs a going over by an independent editor and better sourcing. Article is uncategorised, see WP:CAT.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|JamesG5}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Wikipedia & autobiographies

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Jon Tregenna. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Jon Tregenna moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Jon Tregenna, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
