Hey, thanks, man, for noticing
Travis, this is Professor Paul. Thank you for noticing my "Wiki-work." :) To me, Wikipedia is "recreation." May as well enjoy what you do, I always say. What was it that you liked? And, I am not finished with those articles yet. Take care. 02:06, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Your edit to List of Washington State Routes
I am currently anticipating the rest of the design in the state route log (current + decommissioned) pending a design review which is taking place at List of Routes in Vermont . Pending the outcome of that, to which a table variant is used, I proposed three designs. You can see them here. Please discuss the design at List of Routes in Vermont, since I am aiming for readability and navigatability to not only "roadgeeks", but to all users per WP:MS. Thanks! Colouring
Hey could you give your opinion on colour at this page here ? Matthew Fenton (Talk | Contribs) 16:34, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hey could you have a look at the template above as i do not wish to violate 3RR and a guy keeps reverting. Also both parts of Gone where given different prod. #s which is what makes them seperate :P! Matthew Fenton (Talk | Contribs) 07:40, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

What do you think of my recent changes? MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 22:23, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, i think ive sorted the caption: see -> The Home Front (The 4400 episode) (Would you say thats ok caption size?) and about the text.. i'll see if i can find a darker colour or maybe just use black text :P MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 16:21, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- PS: About the episode numbering thing.. yea sounds like a better idea :-) MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 16:23, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- PSS: Also see Template:The 4400 episode; I've darkend the text a bit more, do you think i should make it some more dark? MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 16:24, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Ok, The numbering is done :-) (So it says now: 3.01 etc ;)) -- If you like the darker text ill implement it on the other tpl as well ;-) (i might be able to get it slightly darker) MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 16:32, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, Implemented captions properly and the darker text :-)! MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 16:48, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject The 4400
Hey there, i've created Wikipedia:WikiProject The 4400; I've listed your name in the members because i expect you'd be interested in the wikiproject and you know alot about The 4400 ;-)! thanks/MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 16:16, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- If you have the DVDs a media player like VLC Media Player (the one i use) is fantastic at screen grabbing :-) thanks/MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 17:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- I was wondering what do you think of including pictures of minor characters for use in List of The 4400 minor characters? (I was thinking they should only be used for characters who've had a 4400 centric episode (IE: Orson in the pilot)) thanks/MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 17:09, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- I thought that guy was talking to me, hehe! :P thanks/MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 17:23, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- I created a new page List of The 4400 recurring characters; I considered what would be classed as recuring and came up with:
- At least 3 episodes
- Been a crucial part in a story line (April had the Ben story line, Gary NTAC/Dennis stuff etc)
Got any ideas? thanks/MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 17:46, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

I thought i'd got all the typos out of it as i wrote it in MSWord, i *should* of set the dictionary to American. i'll try and remember to use the American words in future episodes, but being from England the only American spellings i know i see on the web :P. "BTW, I was just looking at your list of contributions. You've pretty much stuck to sports and a couple of presidents. Compare that to my list -- I'm much more all over the place: a lot of local stuff, some TV shows, a few movies, etc."
- Yep! You've done some great work! I loved the article on Wonderbug. That show was probably my favorite from the Kroft Supershow. Too bad the title song was removed. That should probably find it's way back into the article.
"The fun ones (and I'm using the term "fun" pretty loosely) are when I click Random article and look for spelling and grammar mistakes, or when I check out Recent changes looking for really badly done edits. Just an observation."
- Ooh! Nice idea. I've been using the random button to read articles, but not really shooting for editing them. It takes me awhile to get rid of my tendancy to be gun shy about that.
"I've not gotten to the point where I'm running bots and placing articles up for deletion or the like."
- Me neither, lthough someone seems to have a thorn in their side about breaking up NFL team articles. I really should follow up on that one after the holidays.

Unfinished pages
Hi there. If you have to leave a page only partially written, with the intention of returning later, if you add the template {{underconstruction}} at the top of the page it will stop all but the most over-zealous editors from flagging or deleting it. Useful tip.--Anthony.bradbury 23:28, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Zombie image
The best bet for a good zombie image is probably to take something from the many photos of zombie walks that are floating around online, perhaps from Flickr; it only needs one with some decent makeup, and usage permission from the photographer. The existing zombie-walk image is a bit dull, but it used to be at the top, so I've put it back up for now. --McGeddon 23:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Helpme question: The Samuel Gamboa Potter article was written by User:AOTV, which is probably Action Outdoors TV, the network that airs Potter's show. User:Sampotter has just edited the page with some (malformed) links to additional information.
I don't have the experience to be bold and tell the user that it's a potential violation of a policy to create an autobiographical page (WP:AUTO is sufficiently wishy-washy in this context) and that it's questionable to edit one's own biography. I also don't know if this biography is of someone who is notable enough to have a biography on Wikipedia. Should I hand this off to someone with more experience? If I should handle it myself, what advice can you give me; what templates or examples should I follow? Travisl 03:22, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:FHALodging.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:FHALodging.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:06, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Kentucky Rye (The Twilight Zone), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}

Little context in The Trunk (The Twilight Zone)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Trunk (The Twilight Zone), by UnitedStatesian (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Trunk (The Twilight Zone) is very short providing little or no context to the reader. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Trunk (The Twilight Zone), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. 4400 LOE
Hi Travis, late message (sorry, had to pop out). A common misconception on Wikipedia is that a primary source: a) sources the air-date and b) sources the title (some shows (e.g. the Star Treks) have titles self-contained -- so the episode would be a valid source in those cases).
The episode itself is unverifiable for the air-date in the sense that one can't actually verify it (unless they actually watched the episode that night), thus a reliable secondary source should be stated. Secondary sources are also preferred over the primary source (the episode is the primary source). Indeed not all of the 4400 LOE is sourced (I actually already have sources lined up), and indeed not all of the episode pages are compliant with Wikipedia's sourcing policies/guidelines. Fair use disputed for Image:Tina.ogg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tina.ogg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Thanks mucho, glad you enjoyed it, I've got more to come, including the Vashon - Burton rivalry on Colvos Passage and the boats' alleged tactic of "baby-snatching." I believe the Hoodsport boat Dode had a female skipper, that was not unknown in those days when boats were run by families as a business. Could write a whole article on that. On a related topic, you might like my Steamboats of the Columbia River also. BTW, Mosquito Fleet still lives, doncha know, down to just one boat however. See Virginia V. Here's an image from an old real estate brochure, somehow my family (who lived near Three Tree Point), ended up with the negatives. When my mother was a child in the 1940s, the remains of the dock were still there. Mtsmallwood (talk) 06:06, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:KRpostcardsmaller.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:KRpostcardsmaller.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. County template/county seat
Thanks for correcting the Mason County template. I work with a lot of these templates, and there's always so much to fill in, I sometimes forget to change everything — especially the county seat line, since unlike the stuff about the county itself, it won't mess up the template if I accidentally leave in the information from the templates from which I copied the new one. Thanks for thinking of me on this issue, I don't like to get involved too much in wiki guidelines issues (other than trying to follow them), I just like to write. A lot of people think there's too much external linking, I guess there's some issue with misuse to generate search engine hits or whatever. That's all beyond what I know. Just one external link in an article doesn't seem too bad as long as it's not to some objectionable site, maybe if there's an issue the article should have a discussion of why the link is important or significant. This link in question at Lakewood, Washington seems to be to the municipal government, no? I wouldn't think that would be objectionable. On the other hand, if the linked page is masquerading as a municipal government page, I would think that should be stricken. Has someone run WHOIS on the link? Hope that helps. BTW, I have a new article you might be interested in, Hassalo (sternwheeler 1880) Mtsmallwood (talk) 17:57, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- The EL website doesn't seem too bad. There is barely anything there. If the site becomes more obviously a blog or business related thing, then maybe take it up. As it is it doesn't seem to be doing any harm. I agree that people often add external links to their websites that don't add anything to wikipedia, but I avoid being a wiki-cop and usually don't remove things that aren't blatantly bad. A lot of the San Juan island pages get constantly peppered with commercial links, real estate, etc, which sometimes gets to me. If the person is hoping to generate search engine hits, as I understand it links on wikipedia are ignored by search engines so it doesn't help in that way. Sorry to not be more helpful. - Followup, I can't find a good page about it at the moment, but there's some info about wikipedia's "nofollow" thing here: Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2007-01-22/Nofollow. May or may not be relevant.. Pfly (talk) 21:18, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Barnstars survey
Hi Travisl. I'm running a small survey about wikipedian barnstars. If you have the time, I would really appreciate you taking a look and participating. The survey can be found here. Thank you! Bestchai (talk) 01:51, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Image:The Private World of Darkness.jpg
Can you restore this image so that I may add fair use rationale to it? Thanks. Travisl (talk) 14:48, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- I restored it, don't forget to remove the tag after you've added the rationale. Melesse (talk) 04:17, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
