Additive smoothing[edit]

I found a number of things that were unclear in additive smoothing. I've done some edits based on my guesses about what was meant. Can you tell me whether what is now there appears consistent with what you intended? You also wrote:

and N is the number of all samples

One guess is that by "samples" you mean words in the sample. I'm accustomed to using the word "sample" in the standard way; in this case it would be the set of all words counted. Is words in the sample what you meant? Michael Hardy (talk) 03:24, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seems good to me; the "samples" was used in a bit unclear way indeed. I think the current version could be clarified a bit on the relationship between p(x) and c(x)? Now the p(x) is mentioned on the first paragraph but not later. Touko vk (talk) 08:57, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
