The article Jamming Arabs, The has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't appear to meet WP:MUSIC notability guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have nominated Jamming Arabs, The, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jamming Arabs, The. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Arabscover.jpg[edit]

Got your message - unfortunately it's kinda hard for me to see how the image can be on Commons. As the band existed during the 90s, that's not far enough back for the image to pass into the public domain. I would assume the record label - Alopecia! Records - holds the copyright. Would it be possible to ask them if they can put the image into the public domain?

Now, having said that, it doesn't mean that the image can't be used on the article. You just need to upload it to EN as a fair use file. Go to Wikipedia:Upload and follow the instructions there. Once the image is uploaded, you'll need to add a Fair Use argument for it (hint: copy the text that's used for one of the other album covers on Wikipedia, such as File:Michaeljacksonthrilleralbum.jpg). Okay, I understand. Many thanks for the help and I've gone ahead and done what you recommend. I couldn't work out how to remove the arabscover.jpg however...sorry for being a bit thick!

The original file on Commons? Deleted that one myself just now <G> Tabercil (talk) 13:09, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

...I just wanted to point you to some other areas of Wikipedia where you might be interested in contributing: there's the huge Music Wikiproject, which maintains e.g. Portal:Rock music, where you might find articles on other bands of interest that you might want to read and edit. There's also Wikiproject North East where you can find other contributors with an interest in northeastern England. Thanks for your good work here and I hope you decide to stay.
