If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Cherrelyn Animal Hospital of Englewood, CO, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello ThumpLocal! Your additions to Draft:Cherrelyn Animal Hospital have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 00:25, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cherrelyn Animal Hospital, located in Englewood, Colorado, opened in 1957 and is still located there currently.[1] The hospital serves the surrounding areas of Centennial, Littleton and Denver.

History[edit]

Cherrelyn Animal Hospital was established in 1957 by veterinarian Dr. Donald D. Ramsay who ran the hospital until his retirement in 1978.[2] The building for the animal hospital was built on the same road as the route of the Cherrelyn Horse Car also known as the Cherrelyn Trolley.[3]

Following Dr. Donald D. Ramsay's retirement[2], the hospital has changed ownership four times and is currently owned by Laurie Dinsdale, BBM and Jerry Koster, DVM.

Operations[edit]

Cherrelyn Animal Hospital works with animal shelters to offer clinical treatments for injured or sick animals as well as to provide vaccinations.[4]

Notable Patients[edit]

Cherrelyn Animal Hospital works closely with Eagle Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of Colorado, Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue, and Colorado Division of Wildlife.[3][6]

April 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm JSFarman. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Draft:Cherrelyn Animal Hospital have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thump Local appears to be a digital marketing agency. JSFarman (talk) 17:33, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response. This is a business in a historic location and we believe it is noteworthy and therefore worthy of being listed on Wikipedia. Please consider this recent article published on the Englewood Historic Preservation Society website's home page. The website is here for reference https://www.historicenglewood.com/ - if you scroll down, you can see the article. We can certainly edit this down to meet the standards needed, but asking that you please consider this additional information. Thank you in advance. ThumpLocal (talk) 18:01, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just moved the article back to draft. You need actual references via reliable, independent sources to demonstrate notability. They do not seem to exist; I am an animal fanatic; I looked. More than once. If you feel that you can find more valid references, add them. If you move it back into the mainspace it will very likely be speedily deleted. JSFarman (talk) 16:50, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the feedback. This article on page two linked here was recently published by the Englewood Colorado Historic Preservation Society, and so I added it to the references on this article. This is a historic business in a historic location. Please let me know if this helps. Thank you again. ThumpLocal (talk) 16:57, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for your help and guidance along the way here. Much appreciated! CAH has now been acknowledged on the City of Englewood CO website on their timeline, referencing when they opened (1957). The link is here for reference. By adding this, can it be reconsidered for publication? Thank you again. ThumpLocal (talk) 17:31, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon

Hello ThumpLocal. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:ThumpLocal. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=ThumpLocal|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 17:00, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am simply trying to help this business to achieve a long-standing goal of having an article on Wikipedia documenting their historic location. I am not being paid to write this article. I am part of a company that has worked with them for years, and so I have had the opportunity to get to know the great people there, over the years. Knowing them and their story makes me strongly believe it is worthy of such an article, and this is now a personal mission for me to help make this happen. If there is anything specific that you can share, that might help to make this a reality, it would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. ThumpLocal (talk) 17:40, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So you have a very clear conflict of interest which you need to properly disclose on your user page. The draft was rejected so there is nothing further you can do here despite your "mission". Theroadislong (talk) 18:14, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. Thank you for the fast response. ThumpLocal (talk) 18:22, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
