[edit]Hi Thomas, I appreciate your photography, but photo credits to non-notable photographers on Wikipedia articles is verboten. As one of the more prolific contributors of high-quality images, it should mean something to you that this request to stop putting your name on Wikipedia articles is coming from me. If you wish to reference the Manual of Style, it is here:
Unless relevant to the subject, do not credit the image author or copyright holder in the article. It is assumed that this is not necessary to fulfill attribution requirements of the GFDL or Creative Commons licenses as long as the appropriate credit is on the image description page.
Please stop. Unless consensus changes to include the photographer's name, your contributions will become unwelcome if you continue to insert your name in the captions. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Otherwise, thank you for the photography. -->David Shankbone 20:33, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Note from a "non-notable"
[edit]Thanks for writing. I have removed all credits from the two dozen photographs entered into wikipedia articles by yours truly. I doubt that I missed anything but if I did it was not by design. I was trying to make my work available and intended no offense. Future contributions will be in compliance with the no photo-credit rule. I am hopeful the images will be useful to someone, somewhere.
