DRN

[edit]

I would like to ask you to please stop attempting dispute resolution at WP:DRN. I know you are a new editor and you're obviously keen to help, but after seeing at your contributions at DRN in recent hours, I have to tell you that you're not helping there. I would strongly suggest that you help Wikipedia by editing and improving some articles. Perhaps down the road you can help in other ways too. Omnedon (talk) 11:27, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I admire your passion to improve Wikipedia by assisting in difficult areas like DRN. That said, I think it's too soon for you to be mediating disputes there. You are a very new user, and, as this is a form about content editing disputes, it is essential that DRN volunteers have either extensive content editing history or a solid understanding of Wikipedia policy (preferably both). My user account is also very new, but I've been an editor (under another, fully disclosed name) for five years. Others who frequently volunteer are far more experienced than me. This doesn't mean that you have to wait nearly as long as others have before jumping in. In a few months, I'm sure you'll be ready to handle major content disputes but, in the meantime, I'd advise developing your own track record as a content editor and policy "expert", maybe at Articles for deletion or at the reliable sources noticeboard. (Sorry for the lack of links; I'm using a phone). Thanks, North of Eden (talk) 11:38, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think I have to agree. There's no shame in it; I've been here a year and flatter myself that I know the policies pretty well, but I haven't dared to volunteer at DRN yet. If you're interested in helping decide which articles should be on Wikipedia, read WP:Guide to deletion and work at WP:Articles for deletion; if you'd like to offer opinions on which sources are trustworthy, read WP:Identifying reliable sources and go to the WP:Reliable sources noticeboard. Or just keep up your good work on WP:Requested articles; building the encyclopedia's content like that is the most important contribution you can make (see WP:OWB#12 and WP:MMORPG). FourViolas (talk) 14:42, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks FourViolas please come to my hearing under the "help!" section of the Administrators noticeboard. Im under a lot of scrutiny. Thanks The Editor of All Things Wikipedia 《Talk》 19:24, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

User talk pages

[edit]

Please don't remove templates like {{help me}} like you did with this edit unless you have answered the question raised. I know the user in question raised the question elsewhere as well but they are entitled to ask via the help system as well and your edit preceded the question being answered at the Teahouse. Nthep (talk) 11:47, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I was actually on their user page where they asked the same question and it got answered. Thanks though The Editor of All Things Wikipedia 《Talk》 18:18, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Teahouse hosting

[edit]

"Familiarity" with Wikipedia in general, and the Teahouse in particular, is difficult to show when you have been editing for only four days. Indeed, your account will only just have been autoconfirmed. As you are still using the Teahouse to ask questions, I would be interested to know why you consider yourself qualified to counsel others. That any autoconfirmed user can add themselves as a host does not mean that they should – help given to a new user is useful only when it is accurate and informed by relevant experience.

Based on the various notices posted to this talk page (some of which have been removed), the comments above regarding your participation at WP:DRN, and this developing discussion at WP:ANI, I remain unconvinced that you are sufficiently familiar with Wikipedia processes, and have therefore removed your profile from the host landing page. Please do not restore it until you have significantly expanded your activities on Wikipedia.

Furthermore, please do not re-insert profiles for other users when they are clearly not suited to the task of hosting. A user history comprising 32 edits and an account one month old does not provide the familiarity and expertise necessary to be a host. SuperMarioMan ( talk ) 16:19, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok Ill wait until an administrator decision before doing anything further. The posts missing were probably archived. I like a very clean talk page :). If theres nothing further, Ill archive this too in a couple of hours. Thanks, SuperMarioMan The Editor of All Things Wikipedia 《Talk》 19:28, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've made a proposal that pertains to you at the thread you began there, your coments would be helpful. Thanks. Beeblebrox (talk) 16:35, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for notifying me Beeblebrox You may want to check out the page now, I made a new statement. Thanks, and I will archive this in a few hours if theres nothing else, nothing nefarious, its still accessible in my srchives, I just like a very clean talk page. Thanks :) The Editor of All Things Wikipedia 《Talk》 19:30, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of 3D Anamorphic Street Art for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article 3D Anamorphic Street Art is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/3D Anamorphic Street Art until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Softlavender (talk) 18:33, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I made a response on the admin. noticeboard, you kight wanna check it out Softlavender. I also left a message on the 3D street art talk page, I think your idea of merging it into another article is a good idea. Thanks :) The Editor of All Things Wikipedia 《Talk》 19:34, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I plan on archiving this notice in a few hours, if you oppose that or need to say anthing else, let me know beforehand, keep in mind its still accessible but just in my archives. I like a clean talk page. Thanks for notifying me! :) The Editor of All Things Wikipedia 《Talk》 19:36, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My dispute

[edit]

Editor of all things wikipedia,

I was surprised to see on your user page that you have just started here... you and I both don't have much experience according to the dates when our usernames were started. I don't think that I am feeling that the users are being hostile, just that they are not doing the content right. Would you feel offended if I asked you to recuse yourself on this case and punt to a more experienced user? I don't mean to offend, you've probably got lots of experience in a great many things. But in this case would you feel OK bowing out?Cityside189 (talk) 03:10, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cityside189I already recused myself a bit back due to something else going on. Keep in mind that you can always in my opinion ask someone to recuse themself and dont worry too much about offending anyone because from they way you talk, it doesnt seem like you are trying to insult anyone. Thanks! Let me know if you need anything else or have any questions, let me know :) The Editor of All Things Wikipedia 《Talk》 03:40, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Editing talk pages

[edit]

I'm not sure if you've had a chance to read WP:TPO yet. I think a lot of the concerns people have about your behavior are related to that, and I should heve let you know about it earlier. Basically, you should almost never alter others' comments which aren't blatant vandalism, and although you have largely free rein on your own talk page, people will trust you more if you don't archive so quickly. Wikipedians like to get a quick "feel" for what an editor has been up to by looking through their talk page; per WP:AGF and WP:BITE we won't hold constructive criticisms against you, especially because you usually accept them politely, but if you sweep everything away so fast people will think you want to hide something. I advise you set up an archive bot like User:MiszaBot and let threads sit automatically for at least a week. FourViolas (talk) 03:35, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Normally, I wouldnt archive as fast unless my page was overflowing but with everything going on right now, having a clear talk page lets me see changes more easily and respond a little more quickly, I think that Im past the main brunt of the comments so Ill probably archive a little less quickly again now that there isnt too much going on. And also, everyone on the administrators noticboard is digging through everything and I dont think archiving it would hide it from them anyway. Thanks FourViolas, I am pretty much agreeable to Beeblebox's plan but I requested that he describe what regulations would be aginst me on forums a little more and if I would be able to ask to be reviewed before they end to get them removed if I wanted before I agree. Ill look over those links to see if Ive already read them. Thanks again for not being harsh with your criticism. The Editor of All Things Wikipedia 《Talk》 03:49, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
