We tacitly made the news

[1] And had our work acknowledged by MTG (not with our usernames thankfully!). "She also took jabs at the media and Wikipedia, claiming her “Wikipedia page is atrocious” and “so filled with lies. I’ll never change it because it’s so filled with lies, like alright let’s leave it up so we prove how much of liars Wikipedia are,” Greene said." Curbon7 (talk) 11:08, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

@Curbon7: I like how even her rationale for why she'll "never change it" is ostensibly a lie – the real reason almost certainly being that it's extended-protected and well-watched, and she therefore can't have a gaggle of interns descend on it to warp and remove factual information. "Let's leave it up" because they have no choice in the matter. What a fascinating human being. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 21:30, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

Promotion of Socrates Nelson

Congratulations, TheTechnician27! The article you nominated, Socrates Nelson, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Gog the Mild (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:06, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Congratulations

The Featured Article Medal
By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with this special, very exclusive award created just for we few, we happy few, this band of brothers, who have shed sweat, tears and probably blood, in order to be able to proudly claim "I too have taken an article to Featured status". Gog the Mild (talk) 11:05, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Thank You-Socrates Nelson

Thank You for your work with the Socrates Nelson article and for your comment. Again my thanks-RFD (talk) 12:47, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Hello, TheTechnician27,

I just handled this article you PROD'd and I wanted to remind you of two things you failed to do should you PROD any more articles in the future. First, you need to state, in some words, that you PROD'd or Proposed Deletion for this article in your edit summary. Should someone remove the PROD tag, it's important that it can quickly be seen that it was PROD'd once because no article can be PROD'd more than once. This is seen by looking at the edit summaries in the page history. So, please note what you are doing. In general, it is helpful to other editors if you always leave an edit summary stating what your edit is about.

Secondly, any time you tag a page for deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/TFD/etc.), you must post a notice on the talk page of the page creator, informing them that a page they created has been tagged for deletion. It's part of the deletion process and is a courtesy to other editors. This is done easily if you use Twinkle to tag pages, you just set up your Preferences to "Notify page creator" and then Twinkle will post these messages for you. Twinkle is helpful in a lot of other ways, for example, it will maintain deletion logs for you for each kind of deletion so you can see what you are tagging for deletion and whether or not these pages were, in fact, deleted. It's just a very useful tool to have in the upper menu bar of the screen.

Thank you for your work! Liz Read! Talk! 22:57, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Liz. I could've sworn that my edit summary read "PROD" as it normally does. However, I'll make sure to notify editors in the future. Since WP:PRODNOM states that the editor "should ideally be left a message at their talk page", I didn't see it as a necessity, but I'll just use Twinkle in the future. I have undeleted the page based on a request. We can now observe the page history. Jay (talk) 17:06, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
