Rollback

[edit]

No problem. To file a request for Rollback, on the requests for permissions page simply edit the specific section titled "Rollback" and place your request there. Good luck, Artichoker[talk] 14:18, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, an easier way of explaining it would be: place your request here. Artichoker[talk] 14:19, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, it doesn't matter how you add the request, just make sure you use * ~~~~ as your template. Artichoker[talk] 14:23, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

 • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
 • Rollback can be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
 • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Happy editing! Zombie apocalypse.

[edit]

Hey, stop saying I'm vandalising the articles when I'm not. I'm just changing it to more fit the possibilities of one actually happening. The article as it is now only represents a one sided close minded view of if the zombie apocalypse is actually possible, in which all cases call it an act of fiction when there are historical cases of outbreaking "cannibals" who would only be stopped with removal of the head. It's not fair to only show one point of view as a definite answer with no proof and call changed it to "Vandalism." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.76.107.3 (talk)

re: Zombie apocalypse

[edit]

It's not a delusional point of view based on anyting personal. The article doesn't cite any references or sources. Therefore, until it does, anything about it can be changed without it constituting vandalism.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.76.107.3 (talk)

Signature

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for the compliment about my sig. Here's one that you can use:

<span style="color:blue;">The</span><span style="color:Brown;">Suave</span>

will give you

TheSuave

or for extra fanciness

<span style="color:blue;">The</span><span style="color:Brown;">Suave</span>

will give you

TheSuave

(Note that the "Suave" part does not show a link only because it's on the page it's linking to. On other pages it will link.)

Just go to "My preferences" and paste the code into the field "Signature". Also you must make sure that the field "Raw signature" is checked. Click "Save". Now when you add ~~~~ to your comments it will show the above.

Hope this helps, ... discospinster talk 15:46, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:00, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

London Wikimedia Fundraiser

[edit]

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 00:05, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You recently reverted my edit to the above article.

As explained in the edit summary, the reason is that the article was a redirect page. Therefore, biographical information, links etc should go in the main article. It is simply confusing if, when you search (for example) for "Syrian male singers", you get both the main article and the redirect.

I hope you will see that this is a principled change and not vandalism. By the way, I accidentally left this message on your user page, as that is what your "leave me a message" link does! I shall revert it shortly. --62.25.109.203 (talk) 17:06, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mkrtich Khrimian The changes I made to the article were NOT vandalism. Whoever wrote the article is uninformed as it is rife with empirical errors. If anything my recommendations should be moved to a "conversation" or "discussion" page if one exists. 98.247.186.216 (talk) 00:24, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Hi TheSuave; thanks for your work in maintaining Wikipedia. Could you do other editors a favor and start using descriptive edit summaries? For example, while I wholeheartedly agree with your last revert on Pratibha Patil, it's helpful if you say something like "rv per WP:BLP and WP:NPOV" or "rv: no evidence in source this is controversial". That way we can see the difference between when you are reverting vandalism or for other reasons; more importantly, if the other person knows about article histories, they can also see why they are reverted and possibly try to fix the problem. Qwyrxian (talk) 02:52, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I made a recent edit to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnolia_High_School_(West_Virginia)?diff=540390478 saying that Mr. Mark Lemasters is "pretty much the only reason the school is functioning at any capacity". As a recent graduate of the high school (as well as an active member in the community), I know the school system inside and out. It sounds like the typical "college kid" complex, but ask anyone in the town (aside from other staff) and they will tell you the same thing. 72.50.144.6 (talk) 23:11, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Jat people

[edit]

Hi, I understand the intent of your contribution to Jat people, which I have just reverted. The problem is, it makes it sound as if Nijjar is wrong when in fact this may just possibly be that rarest of beasts: a colonial theory that is correct (!) I don't rate Nijjar highly and have said as much recently on the article talk page, but the fact remains that he is an published tenured academic historian. FWIW, I don't rate Kumar Suresh Singh highly either, or at least not in the context of the Anthropological Survey of India, which was primarily a political stitch-up and - in its "states" series - mostly a pseudo-academic waste of space. I think that what is needed here is more, better support for the opposing positions.

I must add that you are doing a lot of great work on caste articles and I appreciate it. This is a very rare exception. - Sitush (talk) 00:46, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dulay of India

[edit]

Your vandalism on the Wiki of the Dulay of India is unforgivable. Why are you envy of the Dulay of the Jat people? why cant you see that we are the people who has international links to the different royalty. I have a friend in California and you know his observations about Hindu like you? That you are so full of envy on the Jat people that you dont want us to grow and search for our identity. Hindus like you are coward, Jat people are brave and has royal blood. You feel bad about it. But you cant face us in a fistfight so, you just hit our page in the Wikipedia...typical Hindu. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.204.199.147 (talk) 05:18, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, you are a Hindu and your vandalism of a Jat page could add to the worsening tension between the cow - worshiping Hindus and the royal - blooded Jat people in India The Original Dulay Article in the Wikipedia before it was vandalized by a putative Hindu hiding in an alias TheSuave — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.204.199.147 (talk) 05:51, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) I've warned the above editor about the personal attacks. But with regard to the article, I did make some changes; I changed that page into a disambiguation page, and created a separate page for the surname. However, your removal of all of the info was correct, because, as far as I could see, none of that was reliably sourced. Plus, the idea that tribes in India and the Phillipines are descendants of an ancient British/Gaelic family are, well, highly unlikely is a good way to put it. Currently, the link on the Jatt clan just points to Jatt, but if we can find any reliable sources on them, I'd prefer to create Dulay (Jatt clan) and have info there.
To the IP, again, do not attack other editors. If you know of reliable sources that talk about the Dulays (any of them), then we can add that information on one or more of the pages. But the sources need to meet WP:RS. Qwyrxian (talk) 07:06, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
