Linking to Trove Articles[edit]

Hello That One Aussie,

Let me know if you are interested in linking your list of Canberra Grand Finals to reports on [Trove]. Where I have done this for the Central Coast, Illawarra and Groups 6, 7 and 16, I have used an Excel spreadsheet. With a few tabs and formula this converts quickly to the table with references included.

The slow part is getting the article number from Trove. However, you have dates for many of the matches, so finding - or re-finding the articles - should be easier than when you don't know the date or participants.

The good news for Canberra Rugby League is that the Canberra Times is available on Trove up to the mid 1990s.

Regards

Disambiguation link notification for September 16[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2019 NRL Finals Series, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Jennings (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:33, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

October 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Smjg. I noticed that you recently removed all content from International Rugby League. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. — Smjg (talk) 10:15, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Page moves[edit]

If there is a redirect stopping you moving a page like there was with Rugby League International Federation -> International Rugby League, please don't move the article to a page with unnecessary disambiguation i.e. International Rugby League (IRL). Instead list the move you want made at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests and let an admin take care of it for you. It might take a few hours but it avoids the introduction of double redirects when the move International Rugby League (IRL) -> International Rugby League subsequently gets made. Thanks. Nthep (talk) 17:04, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2020 Kangaroo tour of England moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, 2020 Kangaroo tour of England, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. February 2024[edit]

Information icon Hi ThatOneAussie! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Kj cheetham (talk) 16:19, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on 2024 NSWRL Women's Conference Competitions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
