Isaiah 7:14
Good morning. Could you please explain why the inclusion of a specific book on the subject is considered FRINGE? Thank you in advance for the answer. Best Regards Ricardo Ferreira de Oliveira (talk) 14:04, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ricardo Ferreira de Oliveira: That book is WP:FRINGE. This has been discussed at WP:FTN and other places. tgeorgescu (talk) 17:05, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- Dear tgeorgescu, excuse my ignorance but where in WP:FTN is there any mention of this book or the authors of this book characterizing it as WP:FRINGE? Or, alternatively, in what paragraph, under what WP:FTP perspective specifically can this book be classified as a WP:FRINGE? Just stating that the book is WP:FRINGE does very little to my understanding of what is WP:FRINGE or is not WP:FRINGE. Please clarify the issue for me. - @Ricardo Ferreira de Oliveira: Rico's book is a desperate attempt to deny the academic consensus. Every scholar worth his salt disagrees with that book (in case they bother to read it). tgeorgescu (talk) 19:31, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- My apologies, but that sentence sounds more like your opinion of Rico's book than that of the scholars. Is there any reference from any of these scholars showing that they disagree with Rico and that they do not consider his position, although divergent, valid? Pigs and mud
Surely you know the adage, about how useless it is to wrestle with a pig in the mud--you get covered in mud, and the pig enjoys it. Just don't continue that discussion anymore, please; let the admins handle it. Drmies (talk) 00:56, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
WP:VNT

It has? How does one find things like that out? The essay itself does not say it. --Hob Gadling (talk) 08:25, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Hob Gadling: WP:VNT#History of this phrase on the English Wikipedia: it was policy, now it's just essay. tgeorgescu (talk) 12:02, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
- Ah! Now I get it. --Hob Gadling (talk) 12:52, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
