You called me a homophobe on my talk page
FYI, even though this claim by you had zero relevance whatsoever to a genuinely well-meaning & clearly non-bigoted update to Kinsey's page, you did succeed in identifying me, a gay man, as a homophobe!
From your tone, as well as your user page, it is clear that you see yourself as a moral warrior in the battle of good vs evil. I'm uncertain how you possibly identified me as the evil one, & beyond that, how you presume to have the personal moral standing to call anyone a homophobe, at all.
Calling people names on the internet does zero good in the world. I know this runs anathema to your assumed duties, but you need to actually get out & help people to do good. I have volunteered for caused related to gay & lesbian people, in particular vulnerable children, for years. That is good in the world. Calling people names only serves to make oneself feel better. Pat yourself on the back - job well done! Dlobr (talk) 17:51, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Dlobr: you wrote
as a result of his long-term association with and publication of pedophile research subjects
. Well, he wasn't their pal/associate. He studied all sorts of people, good or evil, but he did not snitch on them. - And the accusations are not widespread, it was mostly the American loon Judith Reisman c.s. who maintained that Kinsey was a friend of pedophiles and himself a pedophile. The scientific community had PLONKed her for a long time, so there was no controversy among scholars/scientists, it was a manufactured controversy.
- Even Senator McCarthy, who targeted Kinsey as a Soviet agent, did not maintain that Kinsey was a pedophile. The fact that Reisman c.s. were more extreme than McCarthyism should give you pause. tgeorgescu (talk) 21:28, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Tgeorgescu Dlobr does have a point though. Maybe stop name calling other editors. BTW You straight up called a gay man a homophobe, and that constitutes as a personal attack and bigotry. Just a reminder, wikipedia doesn’t allow Nazis Wolfquack (talk) 19:20, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Wolfquack: Technically, there is a difference between "he is a homophobe" and "he felt prey to crass homophobic propaganda". If there is any doubt, I implied the later. tgeorgescu (talk) 19:40, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Tgeorgescu I see, thanks for the cleanup. Though my point on name calling does stand. Without the context it may be viewed by an admin as “WP:nothere”, and may be blocked for a misunderstanding. Wolfquack (talk) 19:43, 1 February 2023 (UTC)

Once I figure out how to use Wikipedia, I will file an official complaint. Dlobr (talk) 20:23, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Dlobr: I did not call you a homophobe. But you did fell prey to Reisman's paranoid rants that Kinsey was a pedophile or associated with pedophiles. She also implied that he is the father of sexual abuse worldwide, father of the LGBT and she maintained that the LGBT are the new Nazis.
- See all the sources cited for that claim, they all mention Reisman. tgeorgescu (talk) 20:54, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia, and articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (medicine). Readers looking for accurate information will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, please use your sandbox instead, where you are given a certain degree of freedom in what you write. Peaceray (talk) 22:37, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Peaceray: I see why you regard it as a joke, however it is completely true and accurate: the requirements for publishing medical claims inside Wikipedia are severely more draconian than those for The Lancet. tgeorgescu (talk) 22:40, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- If you believe that to be the case, there is a reference section, so please footnote your statement with a citation.
- BTW, I think that you do
volunteer work in order to receive benefits from the Dutch Commune Zwolle
is really cool! Peaceray (talk) 22:44, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
