IPAA[edit]

I've partially reverted your edits at IPAA for the reasons stated in my edit summary. I'm presuming that you feel ileal pouch-anal anastomosis is the more appropriate WP:Article Title, rather than ileo-anal pouch? If so, you'll have to request the move, as the target page already exists. Instructions can be found at WP:move, specifically WP:BEFOREMOVING. However, as the topic is outside of my competency, I want to suggest you start a move discussion at talk:ileo-anal pouch, and drop a curtesy message at WT:MED, before you request such a move. Little pob (talk) 13:29, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've just noticed that the sentence case "ileal pouch-anal anastomosis" is actually free to use (unlike the title case "Ileal Pouch-Anal Anastomosis"). As far as I'm aware, because it's not a proper noun, sentence case would be the preferred WP:AT formatting - so you can avoid having to requesting a WP:SYSOP move the page. However, I would still recommend discussion on the talk page before hand. Little pob (talk) 13:42, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, yes, I just opened "Ileal Pouch-Anal Anastomosis' in the last 24 hours to try and figure out how to address the issue that the current title 'ileo-anal pouch' is not the most helpful title. The official scientific names for the procedure are "Ileal Pouch-Anal Anastomosis (IPAA)" and "Reconstructive Proctocolectomy (RPC)". This is what the journals publish under plus its the official names doctors will use with patients. A patient and/or carers will search for Ileal Pouch-Anal Anastomosis, IPAA, J-pouch not "ileo-anal pouch" these days. I think people who are looking for the info are confused by the title. I did a lot at the top to list all the official and geographic common names (Canada likes IRA, UK likes RPC, USA tends to prefer IPAA etc). If the listing is just under one name, other readers using a different regional name, will be lost/confused. Thank you for the tips on page migration. I had planned to investigate. You gave me a great start! Thank you for the feedback. TL321Wiki (talk) 13:50, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

December 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi TL321Wiki! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.
